St. Gregorys School

Founded in 1962, Saint Gregory's School is located on 22 acres in Loudonville, a suburb of Albany, New York.
It is based on Roman Catholic tradition, and religion is taught throughout a student's years at Saint Gregory's.
All students of all faiths are welcome!   The schools fundamental principles are academic excellence, Christian principles and leadership skills.
Small class sizes, individual attention and advanced courses are offered.
Saint Gregorys offers a challenging program promoting the development of strong work habits and study skills.
The fundamental skills of reading, writing, social studies, math, science, and reasoning are taught in a nurturing environment.
Creativity and imagination are developed through art, music, and drama, which are integrated throughout the curriculum.
Saint Gregory's offers two indoor gymnasiums, a cafeteria space, a regulation-size outdoor basketball court, a full playground and swingset, an inground outdoor pool, a hill for sledding in the winter, and numerous fields for lacrosse, soccer, and other outdoor sports.
Saint Gregory's offers Spanish language education beginning in Pre-Kindergarten and Latin beginning in Grade 5, both of which go through 8th grade. Our students enter high school at least a year ahead in foreign language.
Our students often enter high school having already taken 9th grade Math and Science courses and the corresponding NYS Regents exams.

  • SGS can offer bussing from public districts throughout the Capital Region
  • SGS also offers aftercare (3pm-6pm) and beforecare (7:30-8:00)
  • We also offer after school clubs such as soccer club, lego robotics, coding and programming club, fishing club.
  • SGS offers musical and theatre productions throughout the year, as public performance, the performing arts, and public speaking are important components of our educaiton.
  • SGS hosts monthly Masses open to our community and religious instruction begins in our pre-kindergarten programs through 8th grade focusing on faith formation, the love of God, and his wisdom. 8th graders also learn about world religions as well.
  • We offer the following sports teams: Soccer, Cross Country, Track and Field, and Basketball.
