My toddler joined this school during the unprecedented year of Covid and I cant speak more highly of his experience there so far. The teachers and school administrators went to extra lengths to make sure the classrooms and kids were safe and healthy and kept the school open as often as was possible. My son has thrived in his new classroom, and loves emphasis on nature and being outside. His language and motor skills bloomed once he was engaged with other kids in a small and beautiful classroom and we are both super excited to be continuing next year with Montessori of New Paltz. It's been a dream having such a wonderful school with such a dedicated and caring staff and fun and engaging classrooms.

I have been a Montessori of New Paltz parent for almost 6 years. I have watched my daughters grow and blossom into a caring, motivated and engaged learners under the compassionate, organized and expert guidance of all the teachers at this school. The curriculum and programs are robust, rigorous and driven by the love of children and learning. School`s director Joy Trapani and all of the wonderful teachers there created a vision based on the core principles of Maria Montessori, research based teaching methods, passion for the education of the whole child, and the beauty of the Hudson Valley. My children love their school and their teachers. Every day they are fully immersed in language arts, mathematics, play outside, music, games, nature, history, art, and community. All of the children are active participants on their learning journey together. This is a school where my kids made their first friend, learned to read their first words, organized numbers into their colorful rows, studied the first flight of a new butterfly, made their very own seedling and watched grow into a beautiful plant. We have become family and friends in our small community of learners.

I have sent two very different kids to this school, and both have thrived. The teachers are engaged and compassionate. The classrooms are warm and well equipped. There's a ton of outside play and a nature trail to explore. I cannot recommend this school highly enough. My kids always came home smiling and with a new story or fact.

Every child is one-of-a-kind. It is our responsibility as Montessori educators to respect the needs and encourage the independent growth of each student by creating a learning environment that does the same. MNP is a loving and caring community for all (student, parents and teachers) to feel connected like a family.

I have never experienced a school that wholeheartedly embraces the developmental needs of each child, individually!!! The children are always happy, engaged, and eager to learn. This school focuses on the whole child, social/emotional, nature, culture, care of the earth, and their environment along with reading, writing, and math. If you have a chance, I highly recommend an hour observation in one of their classrooms..
