My daughters transferred to Holy Cross Academy in February 2022. Both classes welcomed the girls with big welcome banners and cards from their new classmates! The teachers made sure they transitioned into the curriculum with ease and added support when needed. I`ve been to the school to volunteer several times now and cannot believe the kindness, thoughtfulness, and helpfulness I have observed throughout all grade levels of students. The older kids look out for the younger ones and classmates for each other. My daughters are truly excited about going to school every day! Holy Cross Academy is a community of teachers, parents, coaches, priests, and other administrative staff that rally around the children. There`s a sign that says "It`s all about the children". I can tell you it`s not just a sign, but their mission is to provide a safe, welcoming environment that is structured with a rigorous academic curriculum that challenges the students as they progress each year! -..and yes, there is plenty of opportunity for fun, laughter, and a place for kids to be kids this year, my daughter is in middle school and I was blown away by the back-to-school night presentations! The students will have the same English, Literature, Science, History, Religion, and Math (there is an honors math program opportunity that starts in 4th grade thru 8th grade) teachers for the next three years. For example, The English and Literature teachers work together and each year of middle school will work to prepare the students to complete a research project and paper, with proper formatting, etc. This sets Holy Cross apart from other middle schools and greatly prepares the students for high school! They also have 4 specials that all students take including Physical Education which teaches the importance of physical activity and healthy habits; Spanish -(HS level), Art and an epic Music program with choir and plays. Holy Cross offers a well-rounded curriculum that is challenging and fun! My elementary school experience has been very good! The teachers are great at communicating, making the parent/teacher partnership very collaborative to ensure my child's needs are met and she has structure and what she needs to be successful! Each morning there are usually 2 Holy Cross teachers greeting the kids outside at drop off and then at least 2 more inside who greet every child by name and send them on their way with a positive greeting, which I love. The foundation of the school is the Catholic faith, however, some non-Catholic families are part of the community. The students attend mass each week and also say the rosary every Friday. The children learn that God loves them and how their faith in God will provide a solid foundation for them throughout their lives! I can`t say enough about Holy Cross Academy! The school leadership is excellent! The PTO is strong and offers wonderful events such as Father/Daughter Dance, Muffins w/ Mom, and more. The children have fellowship opportunities outside of school like Middle School bowling night and Elementary School trampoline outings! They also have a student government, a chess club, and sports! I`m so glad we found Holy Cross Academy for our children! They are in the right school community where it is all about the children!
