Greentree Elementary provides biblically based hands-on learning that meets children’s needs and stimulates learning in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
We partner together with families, professionals, local public-school systems, and the community as we instill a love of learning to last a lifetime.
We stand without reservation on the absolutes of the Bible and interpret all of life and learning from the basis of the principles set forth in God’s Word.
These convictions provide the framework for our entire educational program.
In this framework students develop their intellectual, spiritual, physical, emotional, and social potential in ways that are unique and meaningful to them.

School Notes
- Academics Environment Classrooms: We keep our class sizes small to ensure each student can fully realize their own, individualized learning. This means students working at advanced levels can have their needs met alongside their peers who may need their course work differentiated to support their learning differences or disabilities. This allows students to learn the same academic standards for math, science, social studies, and more; all in ways that are unique to them. Teaching Team: A dynamic teaching team with backgrounds in education, curriculum development, special education, reading intervention, advanced academics, social work, and more to meet your child where they are and bring them forward in their learning. Teachers resource each other, teach in teams, break into small groups, and provide 1:1 learning throughout the school day. Model Mixed-Age Cohorts: By combining ages our teachers can focus on teaching each child according to his or her own strengths, unlike in same-grade classrooms that often expect all children to be at the same place at the same time regarding ability. Younger children can learn from older children as the older children relish the opportunity to provide leadership and modeling for their peers. Hands-On Learning: Children are invited to take charge of their learning, by making choices at centers and with project -based work. This sense of "ownership" and self-direction is the foundation for lifelong learning. It is also an opportunity for students to show what they have learned outside of the traditional “paper pencil” models. Curriculum: Students at Greentree are excited to learn reasoning and mathematics, writing, reading, socials studies, and science. While we align our curriculum to local public-school standards, small class sizes and dynamic teaching teams allow us to go beyond to meet the needs and interests of our students. A two-week lesson on pollination has turned into a month-long immersive experience including planting a pollinator garden due to students’ interest and excitement in their learning. We bring in local experts, work with Orton-Gillingham reading and writing instructors, support students need for ABA and other outside services, and collaborate with public schools as needed to ensure the best possible education for each student. We offer a curriculum that is hands-on and nurtures our students in a community of faith and education that offers: - a Biblical Worldview - a relational community - classical study and joyful discovery - integral curriculum - experiential learning - outdoor and nature inspired education
