Westside School is West Seattle's premier preschool through eighth grade independent school.
We offer an inquiry-based, integrated curriculum that includes strong academic basics along with Mandarin, Spanish, PE, music, visual arts, and performing arts.
Each grade has space for 40 students, with 20 students in a classroom.
Preschool through fourth grade, each class is staffed with a teacher and an instructional assistant
Preschool class size is 15; Pre-Kindergarten class size is 18; our K-4th grade classes range from 16-20. We will occasionally enroll more than 20 students in a class under exceptional circumstances; Middle School averages 16-20 per class.
Our student-teacher ratio is approximately 7:1, which includes our classroom lead teachers, instructional assistants, and specialist teachers.
Middle School offers science, math, social studies, language arts, world languages, and exploratories.
Middle School students venture out on two outdoor trips a year and participate in interscholastic sports.
From fifth grade up, we are a one-to-one Chromebook school.
