We have heard about Tilden for years as a place that meets your child where they are and helps them blossom and thrive. Tilden is all of this and more. Our son had come from a bumpy start at another school for kindergarten and first grade and felt discouraged about learning. He came to Tilden for 3rd grade and he received the support and encouragement he needed. He is now a thriving fourth grader with confidence and curiosity about learning. Tilden's community of kindness and respect is now part of who he is as well. We couldn't have asked for a better school.

My son is in Kindergarten and absolutely, unequivocally LOVES going to school. Loves his teachers, classmates, and fellow students in older classrooms, and loves the after-school program (he tries to persuade me to give him more time at after-school care every time I pick him up). We are so fortunate to have been introduced to Tilden by family and friends. Great community of parents, as well. Thank you, Tilden!

Tilden is exactly what our son needed in elementary school. The focus on kindness and social-emotional learning has been fundamental in his ability to make solid friendships, feel accepted, and be himself. Tilden's curriculum allows our son to be challenged in areas where he excels and confidently learns in all subjects. He loves going to school! The Tilden parent community is wonderful and we feel very grateful for Tilden teachers and the magic that they bring to our son's education.

The only problem we`ve ever had with Tilden is our kindergartener never wants to come home! Teachers and staff are wonderful and committed and the focus on kindness and emotional regulation (particularly for early grades) has been really helpful in creating a class of kids that works together and plays together well. We love the focus on music and arts and the kids all seem to love their outdoor playtime. And the parent community is involved and committed. We love this school.

We feel incredibly blessed to have found Tilden. We want our child to have rigorous academics coupled with the cultivation of empathy and social-emotional learning. Tilden excels on both fronts. It starts with the amazing teachers and administrators. There is a palpable feeling of love and care that emanates from them to the students (and back!). In her two years at Tilden, our daughter has received deeply thoughtful and personalized instruction from her teachers that keep her challenged and excited to learn. This has been partnered with a continued emphasis on building social skills: active listening, conflict resolution, and emotional awareness. We have heard that admissions officers at Seattle private schools regard Tilden graduates as immediate yeses and believe this more every day as we see the kind, caring, poised, and intelligent leader our daughter is growing into. This is indeed a special place and one we feel very privileged to be a part of.

We have been at Tilden for 2 years now and we could not be happier. My child loves going to school every day, the entire staff knows him by name, as do all the students. Tilden is unique in its intimate size and it focuses not only on academics (which have been stellar) but on empathy and social-emotional learning. The kindergarteners through fifth graders are a special group - considerate, respectful, and kind. It's not like anywhere else. For the low-end cost of this private school, we do miss out on a lovely large campus and some of those fancier extracurriculars; however, my child is learning kindness, empathy, and killer 1st-grade math and reading skills above his peers outside of this school. It's a very, very special place.

Tilden and their staff have been amazing during the last few months. Immediately after the school closure we had packets of learning in our hands for the children to continue their education and not fall behind. The teachers worked tirelessly on not just written work but on getting in front of the kids through YouTube and zoom lessons so the kids would stay engaged while having to work from home. I am so grateful that we are a part of the Tilden community. Any child would be lucky to have this kind of dedication and support. Even though we missed the last couple of months, my kids are ready for the next grade because of the wonderful teachers at Tilden. Thank you.

Tilden offers a thoughtful, child-centered program of instruction. The curriculum includes phonics, development of solid math facts, art, music, PE, has been carefully put together to ensure a high-quality of education. Free of the burden of No Child Left Behind testing requirements , the teaching staff can focus on cultivating young minds. The parent community is really wonderful as well. The teaching staff excellent and the student to teacher ratio is one of the best in town. Do check out this little gem of a school.
