As a child, I attended St. Mary's School K - 8. Now, my four children are attending as well. I have had a very positive experience with SMS as my children's educational choice. I feel like I have a team of educators who are willing to work with me, to listen to my concerns, to support all of my children's educational needs. The teachers and staff have been so kind and caring and attentive to my children at every level. I would highly recommend St. Mary's as a quality, classical educational choice.St. Mary's has a zero tolerance policy on bullying that is strictly enforced. According to my children's reports, the students themselves are also quick to stop any comments that may seem mean or unkind and are quick to defend their classmates as well. Being a Catholic school, morals, character formation, and instilling Biblical values is a part of the daily curriculum and teachings at every age level. My four children are currently enrolled at different grade levels in the elementary and middle schools. All the teachers that I have worked with and communicated with have been excellent and caring. The school is small enough that students get lots of individualized attention. The teachers immediately notice if a student is having a difficult time grasping concepts, if they are not feeling well, having a bad day, or if something seems off. They are very good at communicating with the parents and keeping us informed and updated. The leadership is also very good at communicating with the parents and keeping us informed and updated. They are very accessible and available and receptive to questions, comments, concerns and ready to sit down and address any issues that may come up. Everyone is very caring and attuned to the children's needs.

When we decided to move my eleven year old to a private school, we visited every private school in Jackson. At St. Mary's, there was such a peaceful feeling when we visited the school. Everyone was so friendly and genuinely helpful in every interaction, from the first phone call of inquiry to today. I love that parent involvement is such a big part of the school. I love that they communicate so regularly by email so I can keep up with things that are going on. I love the accessibility to my son's homework, grades, etc. online and up to the minute. My son has been welcomed with open arms even though we are not Catholic. He is happier and more relaxed at school than he has ever been. If you are considering private school in Jackson, at please at least give St. Mary's a look. I think you will be impressed.

My wife and I are so blessed that St. Mary's continues the strong educational heritage of the Catholic church. As parents of two current students, we have found St. Mary's to be an open, friendly, engaging and wholly professional school with excellent teachers, staff, facilities and curriculum. We look forward to many great years at St. Mary's and plan on enrolling our youngest there soon. Thank you St. Mary's for all you do to educate our children, body, mind and spirit!
