There aren`t enough words to positively describe this school. We transferred three years ago from the public and will never go back! The class sizes are small, and the teachers are kind and care about your kids. We couldn`t be happier with the education our kids are getting here.

My son attended SJNA for the last two years in their preschool program. He had Mrs. Rooney, who has since retired, and then this past year he had Mrs. Harmon. I cannot say enough fantastic things about this school. I had every intention of keeping my kids home until they went to kindergarten, but when my son came to me at three years old and said he wanted to go to school to make friends, I knew I had to make it happen, even though it broke my MaMa's heart! I had passed SJNA since it was built in 2016 on my way to doctor`s appointments when I was pregnant with my son and was always intrigued, so I figured I would check it out some more. I was very anxious about putting him into school being as he had only ever been with me or my husband and, very rarely, when visiting my state, mom. Tack on being in the middle of a Pandemic and we was not allowed to enter the school etc-I was on the struggle bus! Mrs. Wharton, the director, was amazing at helping us with the transition. She took the time to have my son and I come to the school when it was empty so he could see the building and classroom he would be in and get to know her face so he would have some familiarity with everything when he started. She even made sure she came after the first week or so of school at drop-off and took him out of the car because she was a familiar face to him. These last two years have been amazing for my son and our family, he has grown so much as a person going to a school where you are treated like family. He loves everyone there and always looked forward to school and was upset when he couldn`t go, even if it was because it was the weekend! The only reason he will not go to kindergarten there and our daughter won`t be starting preschool is because we have relocated out of the area, otherwise, we would have been there as long as possible! It is an amazing school. I could not have possibly asked for a better school to enroll my son in, in the middle of a Pandemic no less, than SJNA! Amazing staff, amazing community!!! We will miss it so much!

As a grandparent, I have had the privilege of watching six of my grandchildren go through SJNA since it first started. As the youngest is graduating this year, I can only say THANK YOU to all the teachers and staff who have helped mold them into kind and productive young people who appreciate all the God-given gifts they have received and are doing their part to give back to others. It is so rewarding to see a school that supports and builds on what the parents teach at home. This school is a true gem in the New River Valley!

There aren't enough positive words to describe this school - the best in the NRV! This is a warm, caring, encouraging, and uplifting environment. Our son has some learning challenges, but he is progressing steadily with the extra attention, support, and love afforded to him at SJNA. The teachers and staff here really believe in him and embrace their ownership in his success. Our son LOVES school and looks forward to returning each week. And it is not just about academics - values are a critical facet of attending SJNA. Here, high-caliber high-integrity future leaders are developed. There is also ample encouragement for involvement in your child's school - and it is so much fun! Staff and parents come together like a big family - whether helping with a book fair ... or pancake lunch or fundraisers or career day - every time I participate in an SJNA activity it is the highlight of my week! I cannot recommend this school highly enough. SJNA is more than simply a Catholic school, it is a special place.

I can't say enough wonderful things about SJNA. I was blessed to teach at this school for two years and was heartbroken to leave for my husband's job. Without a doubt, SJNA is far above and beyond any other school regarding academics, faith, and the development of each child. Each teacher is dedicated to all of their students and because of the smaller class sizes, the teachers can give each student the personalized attention they need. Students are challenged each day in their course work, formed in solid values by the priority placed on faith, and become well-rounded people by the fantastic extracurricular opportunities. SJNA is committed to what is truly best for each of their students. There is no better place for children of any age than SJNA. Go Knights!!

I have two sons that went to this school from Kindergarten through 8th grade. They both absolutely LOVED SJNA. I can't say enough about the warm, loving environment and the smart and caring staff. My children received a top-notch education (way ahead of the game as they entered public high school) and they spent each day in a Christ-centered environment. We have always felt like the faculty, students, and families at SJNA are part of one big family. Best school in the NRV!

This is our daughter`s first year at SJNA and we have been very impressed with the staff and the school. SJNA provides a warm and attentive learning environment for our child. We love the focus on academic excellence, good behavior, and virtues. Small class sizes, first rate facilities, and dedicated teachers mean that our daughter is very happy at the school.

We transferred to SJNA from a local public school mid-semester. SJNA school is calm and structured, the teachers are kind and devoted, and the curriculum is rigorous. Before we transferred, my child cried every day before going to school, acted out at home, and refused to tell me anything about the school day. Ever since she started at SJNA, she is like a new person. She is happier, communicates more, and her behavior has improved. I am thankful every day for this school, and recommend it highly.

I'm actually a grandparent. My granddaughter attended St. John Neumann Academy (SJNA) as a preschooler in the school year that just ended. She will move on to kindergarten there for the the 2016-2017 school year. SJNA combines the academic, spiritual, service and social aspects of education in a way that enables its students to grow and flourish. I highly recommend SJNA to all parents in the New River Valley area.

There are not enough words to say how wonderful this school is. My daughter had the privilege to attend this school for 4 years. The absolute only reason she is not going to be there this year is because of our family will be moving. The teachers and all the staff, along with the parents, at this school are wonderful! I have nothing negative to say about SJNA at all. The school is extremely family oriented and everyone knows everyone. The children are all wonderful, especially the upper school children. They are constantly interacting with the lower school children. During drop off and pick up, the upper school kids are so polite and so so nice to the younger kids. Not to mention the student/teacher ratio. It is overall the best school in this area, and the best school I have ever seen. We love SJNA and if we happen to come back to the area there is no doubt that my child will be welcomed back as if she never left. SJNA will always hold a special place in my heart. They did so much for my daughter and I. We will miss them very much!

I can not say enough about this school. I will keep it short. This school is AMAZING. The teachers and faculty truly care about the social and academic development of the students. My son was accepted to two VERY competitive high schools after taking entry tests. I know this is because of the rigorous academics he had at St. John Neumann Academy. The teachers teach to individual student needs. They have a very low student/teacher ratio. I LOVE this school.

Hands down the best school for my children. The small class sizes allow the teachers to really get to know their students. This allows them to work on students strengths and weaknesses. There are reading buddies programs and school activities that encourage the older students to mentor the younger ones. Parents are always encouraged to be involved with the school.
