I find it disturbing that Serra promotes discrimination against trans kids and trans families on its website. See their "Gender Identity Statement" on About Us. It get that it's a Catholic school. I am Catholic as well. So are many of my friends and family. None of us endorses bigotry like Serra seems to be doing. I get people have their individual views. But to advertise such an unwelcoming attitude on your website is something entirely different. It makes me wonder if they are teaching their students to be intolerant as well. I'm not going to get into a religious debate here, but it does strike me as antithetical to their stated Core Values of Kindness, Respect, and Love.

We have been part of the Serra family going on for 6 years now. Attending this school has been the best decision we could have ever made for our children. The facilities are beautiful, the staff and leadership are outstanding and the moment we step onto campus we always feel like we are part of a special family. The school is large but we are grateful and embrace all it has to offer. We appreciate the faith-based teaching that is offered at Serra as well as feels confident that the teachers are preparing them for their next step as they go on to high school. There is diversity on campus, which is important to our bi-racial family. All academic levels are taken into consideration and children are placed appropriately so all can thrive whether it be in advanced classes or small group classes. Lessons are taught throughout the grades focusing on kindness and respect, which is so extremely important to our family. If questions ever do arise we feel as though we are always heard by the upper leadership and feel confident that they are here to support their families in any way they can. Also, we love that volunteer opportunity are always available for those parents who like to be on campus. St. Serra is giving our children the strong foundation that we know will help them succeed in all aspects of life, and for that, we will be forever grateful to all the teachers, staff, and leadership. We highly recommend this school for preschool -8th grade.

We have been at St. Serra Catholic School for three years, and couldn't be happier. My two children are thriving academically and socially. The staff, teachers, and administration are excellent and provide a safe environment for the children to learn. Although the curriculum is held in high regard, the teachings of being kind, faith-filled children/young adults are equally important and taught every day. We feel very blessed that we are St. Serra and highly recommend it to any family that is looking for a school from Pre-School to 8th grade with strong academics and Catholic identity.

Our granddaughter was a student at the school until June 2021, and we were very happy with it. She loved her teachers, and they were wonderful role models for her. Everyone in the school, from Principals to Teachers to Yard Supervisors and Extended Care Aides all feel accountable for the success of each individual child, so they are prompt to communicate any issues or concerns, and they address issues proactively. During her time at St. Serra, she loved being able to express her faith at school, and she received excellent religious instruction. My granddaughter eventually moved out of the area and on to a new school, and she was well-prepared academically for her new school. Overall, she thrived at St. Serra, and we felt loved and supported every day.

St. Junipero Serra is such a great school! Having taught in a wide variety of both public and private parochial schools, I can honestly say that St. Serra has an amazing academic program and a wonderful Catholic Christian approach. There are leveled ELA and Math classes and so many enriching classes like art, creativity lab, music, religion, etc. The teachers are such Christ-like examples of servant leaders. Beautiful facilities, cutting-edge technology, after-school sports, etc. -- so much to offer!

We are blessed to have 2 children attend SJSCS. The school offers a safe environment and excellent education. We are impressed with the faculty, staff, and administration. I would say one of the many things I am thankful for is their excellent communication with parents. We receive weekly emails and updates from behavior reports to grades and assignments. Their efficiency with communication is in part thanks to their great understanding of technology and the best ways to have the students utilize it. I can't say enough good things about the education my children receive at this school!

My son has been at St Serra since 1st grade and currently is a 5th grader. We absolutely LOVE Serra and wish he had been there for Kindergarten as well. Every teacher has been outstanding and it just keeps getting better and better every year. Special shout outs to Mr. Inducil, Mr. Nuttal, Mrs. Husli, Mrs King, Mrs Salazar, Mrs. Fleming, Ms. Armenta, Mrs Sifers, and save the best for last, Mrs. Christman who is so incredibly attentive to her students' individual needs, is extremely detailed and knows exactly how to teach the kids at their level so they understand, is always so patient and encouraging and never gives up on them, keeps parents informed, as all the teachers do. The teachers at St Serra all truly love to teach and care about their students and they know how to make learning fun! The administration cares too, is organized and everyone is very accessible. They have a wonderful group of parents running the PTO with many family activities throughout the year. And the campus is so beautiful with the new chapel and STEM & admin center! Mrs. Trudell does an amazing job running the school and although the school is big, it feels like an extended family.
