St. Ann`s is an absolutely wonderful place to receive a classic Catholic education. The Pastor is fully committed to the school and the Principal is a great leader who is very fair, is receptive to feedback, and is continually looking for ways to make the school a better place for all students. She has built a staff of wonderful classroom teachers who know how to teach, always have a smile for the students and demonstrate that they genuinely care about them-plus the middle school math teacher is outstanding. The staff of specials teachers know their stuff-the Language Arts Enrichment teacher is the best in the business, as St. Ann students continually emerge as strong writers and win awards in local essay contests on a regular basis. The Art teacher is fabulous and showcases multiple pieces of artwork from every student in the school at an impressive art show each May. The PE, Spanish and Computer teachers are also on top of their game. St. Ann`s also has an outstanding resource teacher who does a great job with students who need some extra help. The school also offers a wide variety of after school enrichment activities. However, the secret sauce at St. Ann`s lies in the community. You will not find a more close knit, supportive and genuinely nice group of families anywhere, and there are lots of fun, community building activities throughout the year for everyone. The CYO sports program has something for everyone, and includes a group of experienced, dedicated coaches-highlighted by a highly acclaimed and very popular basketball program that emphasizes sportsmanship. The result of an education at St. Ann`s? Students who are genuinely nice, respectful, well mannered, well rounded and very well prepared for high school-year after year the 8th graders are moving on to some of the best high schools in the area. While no school is perfect, St. Ann`s is a gem.

I do not endorse this school. My child has not had a great experience and feels bad about herself most days. There are so many unnecessary rules with consequences that do nothing other than embarrass children. Many teachers do not teach, but rather give worksheet after worksheet and endless amounts of homework. The administration and teachers have a difficult time with communication, often taking days to respond to emails or phone calls. The only positive things Saint Ann has going for it is the small class sizes and lovely families and most of the children are kind. My child was harassed by other students at recess at times, and no measures were taken. At this time, my child is struggling to keep up and is far behind in math and language arts because the teachers move at such a rapid pace. Staff does not take into account the different learning paces or learning styles.

I am an alumna as well as a parent of a 7th grader. The St Ann community has been part of my extended family all my life. The school is a warm, loving, nurturing environment with small classes and teachers that truly care about faith-based education. Students leave for high school well-prepared and confident.

We moved to VA from CA. We chose a Catholic School as it best suits our family. After touring several Catholic schools we decided on Saint Ann for a variety of reasons; small class size, welcoming community, active church, dedicated teachers and specials instructors, along with an exceptional Preschool program and assortment of sport and after school programs. We have now been here 3 years and have not been disappointed. The teachers are dedicated and open. The faculty makes every effort to work with children of all academic levels. Either providing them with additional instructional assistance or providing them with additional instructional challenges. The teachers are loving and friendly and firm. Policies such as anti-bullying are handled seriously and with love, compassion and firmness. The sports have truly dedicated coaches and provide an excellent learning environment. A one track private school in CA would be 3 times the cost of Saint Ann's. We are beyond grateful for having found this school to have our children and family grow with.

Saint Ann isn't just a school. It's a home. Where you learn, play, grow in faith, and form families. Saint Ann is a place where no one is left alone. No one is taunted or made feel like they''re not worth it. All the teachers, students, and faculty all make you feel like you belong, like you''re a part of something bigger than just a simple school. The learning environment produces students ready to take on the world (I have experienced it myself), with an astounding amount of knowledge in all areas. At Saint Ann, your class is your family. Your teachers are people you trust and love enough to respect them and be able to tell them anything. You always know you''re supported and loved. My years at Saint Ann have been some of the best in my life, and any child who could possibly go there is very blessed in deed.
