School Notes
- Our Philosophy
- Play is Learning: We believe that children are naturally curious and that they learn best through play. All of our classes are half-day programs, running from 9am-1pm. During this time, students alternate between structured teacher-led activities and free play. They sing and dance, do art projects and science experiments, read and listen to books, engage in sensory play, practice age-appropriate early literacy and math skills, do show-and-tell, and play outside on the playground or in one of our indoor play spaces.
- Education is a Window to the World: During school hours we provide a wide variety of enrichment activities including an in-school library, weekly music visits, and other visits and performances from artists, magicians, a petting zoo, community helpers, and more. We also partner with various after school programs to provide STEM classes, drama classes, dance classes, soccer, and other sports activities.
- It Takes A Village: We are a small, close-knit community. Class sizes are small. We have monthly activities for MDO families, and many other opportunities for parents to volunteer and be involved. Our Board of Directors is comprised of parent volunteers and the school's Executive Director. Our extraordinary teachers develop their own curriculum and customize their lesson plans to the needs and interests of their students.
- We Are Better Together: We are dedicated to raising good humans. Our school welcomes everyone, and we pride ourselves on diversity. We admit students of any race, color, or national or ethnic origin. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sexual orientation or gender, national or ethnic origin, religion or nonreligion, or native language. We are confident that you will feel at home here.
