As an alumni of Montgomery Bell, there is not a better place in Nashville for you to send your son. I am currently a sophomore at Vanderbilt, and freshman year I was immensely more prepared for the workload and rigor of a college curriculum than my classmates were. While preparing students for college is a goal for MBA, the school offers so much more. I came in 7th grade thinking that I was going to play basketball and focus on math. Six years later, I graduated a singer who has a passion for the spanish language. I also went on two exchange trips to Chile and South Africa for a month each during the summers after my sophomore and junior year on scholarship. You will not find another high school in the city that can offer such opportunities on grant money. Many think that if your son is not a jock athlete who watches ESPN all day then he will not fit in and do well at MBA. While I thought the same thing coming in 7th grade, I quickly discovered the exact opposite. The school exposes students to so many different paths that anyone can find not what he is passionate about, but also teachers and peers that will enthusiastically support him. The work load is difficult and should not be overlooked, but in the end your son will have learned much about how to manage time and also how to pursue his passions.
