School Notes

  • Our mission is simple to provide a safe, supportive learning environment for students where they can receive a quality education based in God`s Word.
  • We are in a season of renewal and growth, working to provide students in the Michiana area with a quality elementary education. Our curriculum is purposefully chosen to not only meet Indiana`s state standards, but also to align with our Biblical foundation. Students attend daily Bible class as well as a communal weekly chapel service. We purposefully limit class sizes to maximize the opportunity for our teachers to meet each student`s individual needs. Current extra-curricular enrichment activities include art, music, and physical education.
  • MCA accepts Indiana School Choice vouchers allowing students from all income levels to attend. For families who do not qualify for vouchers, we offer tuition assistance in the form of SGO scholarships and privately funded scholarships to offset costs.

Michiana Christian School (Sonrise Preschool) is such a great learning environment for all students. It rangers from preschool and K-6th grade. I have had friends and family both attend these school or have had children enrolled as students and have heard many great things about it. The teachers are very friendly and are involved in the students'' lives inside and outside the school. They show concern on behalf of the students and take their education very seriously. I would highly recommend this school as a great place for young students to not only be educated in the general studies but as well as Christian principles and how to live our lives daily according to God's word. I would trust them with my future children to teach them as much about math, spelling, english, and reading as much as teaching them the word of God.

Our daughter has been attending MCS since kindergarten and now is in the 4th grade. We believe she has excelled so much due to the small classroom size and individualized attention the receive. Most importantly the school teaches the principles of christianty and the love of God. The students are also taught to honor and respect their parents, teachers and everyone in authority and each other.

My daughter LOVES MCS!!! She has had wonderful teachers that have helped her learn and grow. I am a teacher at a public school and am AMAZED at everything that she has learned since attending MCS. MCS has small class sizes, so we feel blessed that our daughter gets so much attention from her teacher, unlike what I am able to give to all of my students in the public school where I teach.

Our girls love Michiana Christian School and the friendships they have made there. This school is very student & parent oriented. The teachers and principal make it very easy to feel connected to the school. You really do become part of a school family. My youngest will be a kindergartner this fall and she already knows all the teachers and considers herself a student there already! Great place for your child to grow academically & spiritually!

My husband and I are so happy with love and attention our children receive from the teachers at MCS. The classes are small so the personal attention has been such a bonus for our girls and we love the challenging curriculum . We are excited to be part of a school with such strong leadership in place. We are also excited to be part of the growth we are experiencing at MCS. When I asked my girls what they loved about their school their answer was their teachers and principal. They love how their teacher is so enthusiastic about teaching and she makes learning so much fun. They love the principal because they know she truly cares how they are doing. MCS has been such a blessing to our family.
