What a fantastic school! Long-term family (9 years and counting) We have two students in high school and one that graduated from Lighthouse and has had nothing but a stellar experience. Our oldest repeatedly says that he's not only head and shoulders above his college classmates but is far more prepared for the college experience. The school gave him the tools to think critically, stay organized, and be a true self-started, all skills we could only have dreamed of. The teachers are extremely knowledgeable, infinitely caring, and personally invested in each of their students. My wife and I highly recommend this school.

Lighthouse Academy of Fredericksburg has been a perfect fit for my Adolescent students. The teachers and staff have always shown love, guidance, and concern for the many circumstances our teens have encountered. In addition to a strong academic program, my students have enjoyed the sports program along with fun and creative electives throughout the years. The atmosphere with both staff and peers is more like family, where they have learned both responsibility and accountability!

I cannot say enough good things about Lighthouse. The staff is responsive to parents & children alike, and they genuinely care about the kids. Public school was a disaster for my son, the forcible shoveling of academics down his throat at age 5 was completely age-inappropriate. We were relieved to put him in Lighthouse, where children are free to learn through play and interaction with students both older & younger than them. Lots of recess time in the afternoons, excellent one-on-one time with teachers, and the focus on what is age-appropriate are all huge selling points. Encouraging them to think things through, supporting them when they fall, and celebrating when they "get" it- that`s the support system they provide for their students. Too often schools forget that kids need to be kids, not robots trained to memorize & take tests. If it weren`t for Lighthouse, my son wouldn`t be the well-balanced kid he is today.

My son has done amazing the last 2 years being at Lighthouse. There is an adjustment period to the Montessori approach. However, it is well worth it! Every child would want to learn like this and be in a school environment that feels like family with amazing educational opportunities that traditional schools do not offer. They foster kindness, community involvement (w/monthly field trips), and adjust the teaching to fit what the child needs. I have recommended this school to other families and their children are thriving as well. No bullying, small classrooms, individual attention, and teaching of Christian values which is role modeled by all the staff. They also give scholarships to those that could otherwise not afford to the cost of tuition. During COVID, they did not close. Our son learned everything he needed to for the year, and they went above and beyond to keep the children safe. My son wants to stay until he graduates.
