Kulanu Academy is a private school serving individuals with disabilities aged 11-21.
Kulanu's student body is comprised of individuals with a wide range of diagnoses including Developmental Disabilities, Autism, Speech and Language Impairments, Cerebral Palsy, Physical Disabilities, Learning Disabilities and Genetic Disorders.
In order to support the broad levels of our students, Kulanu offers a tailor made educational, vocational, and clinical program for each child.
Kulanu`s curricula is applied to each child according to their specific needs and goals.
Content covered range from Life Skills and Communication Development to NYS Regent Exam Preparation.
All students are provided with social skill instruction and clinical therapeutic sessions, whether 1:1 or group, based upon their individual needs.
Kulanu views the community as an extension of the classroom, and builds community integration and community-based vocational internships into their students` weekly schedules, thus preparing them to thrive in the world in which they live.
Kulanu`s team of teachers, speech, occupational, and physical therapists, as well as social workers, mental health counselors, and behavior analysts are all certified/licensed in their respective fields.
Through our teams' partnership with Kulanu parents, each student progresses and develops academically, socially, emotionally and vocationally, while receiving customized support within a warm and nurturing environment.
