- In 2018, Hope made the huge leap of faith to open a full-service educational program for children age 6 weeks to Kindergarten, as well as before and after school care for older children. Today, families enjoy Christian education on a campus offering meals, special programming, and the same exceptional preparation for school they have always provided.

Hope has been a great school for our children! The teachers are very loving and the administrative leaders are always there to answer any questions. We are so happy that the teachers are actually teaching and not just focused on the kids playing mostly! Most of the classes are already on a waiting list because the programs have changed a lot for the better.

My husband and I had our first child this year in the spring of 2022 and we were so nervous about how to navigate the world of childcare once my maternity leave was up. We spent so much time researching different places in Virginia Beach and Norfolk and HOPE continued to pop up and was our first choice. We have been blown away by the genuine care and expert knowledge our daughter of 8 months has received from the teachers and staff at HOPE. We get updates every day of each and everything she is doing through an app. The teachers send pictures and messages and I genuinely know my daughter loves her days at HOPE. My husband and I have an incredible sense of peace knowing our daughter is cared for and the developmental growth our daughter has gained in just her first 2 months there is great. We know that will only continue. If any parent or family member has questions, my husband and I would be happy to chat. You can reach my husband and me at camerongwaltney@gmail.com.

My son started at Hope Academy in January 2020 at 3 years old. I was slightly apprehensive because he had been in an in-home daycare and wasn’t sure how well he would adapt to such a change. I had concerns about potty training accidents because he was only a few months out of training. After speaking with the director Bev, she assured me everything would be fine, and we decided to take the plunge. My main reason for choosing this school initially was my experience during our tour. Bev was extremely welcoming and so patient with all of my concerns and questions. I loved how she shared her own personal experiences to help me feel more comfortable. I was ready to sign all the papers on the spot, but she wouldn`t accept that. She wanted me to go home and pray and sleep on it before making the decision to commit. I respected this so much because it made me feel like she genuinely cared about me making the right decision for my family and not just enrolling a child. Fast forward to March 2020 when Covid began. I am a healthcare worker who is also a single parent. The thought of my childcare shutting down quite literally terrified me. The Hope Academy and everyone involved did EVERYTHING they could to keep their doors open to their families while keeping the children as safe as possible. They succeeded and did so in the most outstanding way I ever could've imagined. I always knew my son was safe and cared for in a healthy environment. The Hope Academy keeps the parents informed on everything that is going on at all times. They are very strict with ensuring everyone is accounted for and that NO ONE enters that school without them knowing. The Hope Academy is very safe and secure and am pretty certain Mrs. Bev or Mrs. Kathy would take down anyone questionable before they entered the front door. As a single parent, I appreciated how well they have worked with me in terms of knowing how to handle my family without having to make pickups and the communication. You will not find a better school for your little one. My son learned so much within weeks of beginning their pre-k program. Am always shocked at the new knowledge he brings home. Their summer camp is AMAZING as well. If you are looking for a school that cares for your child with impeccable skills and also teaches them everything they need to know, this is where you need to be. I am so happy I made the decision to send my son to school at The Hope Academy. I will truly be very sad when it comes time for him to move on to a different school when he reaches 1st grade.

My family loves Hope Academy! We have our 2 sons (3 years old and 15 months) at Hope and have had a wonderful experience! My 3-year-old's vocabulary and knowledge of preschool level topics took off once he was enrolled (came from an in-home daycare). The size of the classes (small) and the amount of play time the kids get outside is awesome! The administration makes me feel very heard and cared for and the teachers are all so kind!
