Bridgeway Academy is a nonprofit education center serving children with autism and developmental disabilities.
Founded by speech-language pathologist Abby David and music therapist Erin Nealy in 2005 as Helping Hands Center for Special Needs, the organization`s goal is to help each child reach his or her highest potential.
Bridgeway Academy accomplishes its mission with a centered approach. Annual tuition to attend the school program at Bridgeway Academy ranges from $30,000 – $35,000, with an average annual tuition of $33,380. Bridgeway Academy is an Ohio Department of Education accredited Autism Scholarship Provider which is available to any child aged 3-22 that has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Ohio’s Autism Scholarship program currently provides $31,500 per year per child in PARENT DIRECTED FUNDING. The scholarship reimburses Bridgeway Academy monthly and the parent/family is responsible for any amount due above that $31,500. Bridgeway Academy utilizes a program called FACTS to assist with monthly payments which are automatically deducted from the bank account of the family’s choosing and will work with each family on a comfortable payment plan and schedule. Bridgeway Academy does have need-based financial aid assistance available to families that qualify.

- Bridgeway Academyis a full-day private school program that follows a traditional academic year calendar. Bridgeway Academy features small classroom sizes and unparalleled low student-to-teacher ratios for students inpreschool through age 21,providing an unprecedented opportunity for learning.As part of our unique approach, students enrolled in the Academy have an opportunity to receive therapies (Speech, Music, Occupational, and Physical) during the school day through the Bridgeway Therapy Center. Consultation and Assessment byBoard Certified Behavior Analysts, theFamily Partnership Services Program, Life and Vocational Skills,andTransition-To-Adulthoodservices are also offered to students enrolled in the Academy. Bridgeway Academy utilizes the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which research has shown to be the most effective treatment for autism. Classrooms provide individualized instruction based on each student`s need and learning style with a curriculum adapted from the State of Ohio Academic Content Standards.
