We have a current 6th grade student and our son was there from grades 5-7. He is currently a senior at Boulder High and loved his experience at BCD. BCD ignited his love of Latin and it continues to this day. He is taking AP Latin and loving his friends in Latin Club. BCD was able to provide differentiated learning for him that public school could not. Being extremely accelerated in certain subjects and not in other is challenging to navigate outside of BCD in Boulder County. He was extremely well prepared for high school, and started in Algebra II as a freshman. His sister came to BCD during the pandemic as a second grader. She had the opposite issues as her brother. Struggling in reading and math, due to the difficulty with reading comprehension. While she doesn't have a zeal for learning like her brother, she is excited to go to school for the programming they provide to sporty free spirits.

My son has been going to BCD since pre-k. As he rounds out his 6th grade year and heads into 7th, I am so grateful that we found BCD!The school stands for high academic achievement, something I notice regularly when he is with other non-BCD kids his age and older. He is at much higher levels in math and reading, plus he already has many years of Latin, Spanish, and French under his belt.BCD also stands for community. My son understands respect for others, his community, and his environment while also learning to advocate for himself. He is on the after-school x-country and track teams with Olympic-level coaches. The teachers and staff are commendable and create a wonderful atmosphere where students are encouraged to participate, push themselves, make mistakes, and learn. We have built great friendships with wonderful families in this a safe and supportive community. Thank you BCD!

We have been a part of the BCD community for 4 years and now have children in the preschool, elementary, and middle school programs. We are a multicultural family and have been embraced by this community. Their focus on diversity and inclusion over the past few years has made a huge difference. It's easy to get the kids out the door every morning. They love school! We moved from a public school in Boulder and it was the best decision we have made for our children. The middle school is challenging in the right ways. The explore classes at the end of each day are the best. Japanese tea and amine and cooking have been some favorites. The United Nations project and trip to NY inspired our son in ways traditional learning never has. The workload is significant, but there is a lot of support available. The elementary program is balanced and thoroughly prepares the kids for middle school. They have a lot of fun too. The small class sizes and administrative support create an environment in which the teacher can be creative and structured at the same time. The sports program that starts in 5th grade is the best! It's right after school and they play other private schools in the area. It's an extension of the social/emotional curriculum and provides much more than exercise. The preschool building is magical. I wish all my children could have gone through the preschool program at BCD and continued through middle school! We love being a part of this community.

My son entered BCD in 6th grade this past Fall. It has been an absolutely extraordinary experience so far. He was immediately included by all the students and made friends quickly and easily. All of the kids were so welcoming and kind. The teachers and administration have been supportive, interested in engaging with us as parents, and they all have really gotten to know my son very well. I really appreciate the social-emotional aspects they have engrained into their curriculum and mission. The academics are the correct level of rigor for this age group- just the right balance. The class sizes are great large enough to provide enough social diversity but small enough for the teachers to really get to know and support each individual child. My son LOVES going to school every day!

We have been at Boulder Country Day for 3 years having moved to Boulder in 2018. After touring both public and independent schools in Boulder, we found Boulder Country Day to have the strongest academic and school community offering. What really tipped the scales for us is the focus on social, emotional development and growth. This focus, combined with an emphasis on citizenship, builds a foundation for individual confidence and leadership. We've found BCD teachers to be engaged, compassionate and focused on, and accommodate for the individual needs of each of our children. The Bulldog Family program, comprised a student in each grade per family, creates a sense of connection for students as well as leadership opportunities as students rise through the grades. We've been pleased with the variety of art and music offerings in the Elementary School. The after-school sports programs starting in 5th grade further instill a sense of community among the students delivering instruction on technique/skill and team sportsmanship. BCD administrative leadership is exemplary - communicating effectively and listening to the priorities of parents and faculty. Above all, BCD's family and community is incredibly strong. Parents are engaged, welcoming and contribute to fostering a positive and dynamic culture.

We moved to Boulder mid-pandemic with our Kindergartener and found a true home at BCD - a place where our little guy has thrived as both a student and citizen. We were welcomed by a community of engaged and positive parents, faculty, and staff. The quality of learning and curriculum are unparalleled and age appropriate, with enthusiastic special teachers and exposure to two languages starting in preschool! Our two younger children will join him this coming school year. We`re so happy to have found BCD!

BCD is truly exceptional. Everything from the teachers and administrators, to the level of communication, to the parents and families at the school -- every aspect of Boulder Country Day is amazing.I didn't think it was possible to care as much as the teachers and administrators do at BCD. They're thoughtful, kind, compassionate, and smart. There is a strong math, science, reading, and language presence throughout the campus. Our very young daughter can sing in French already!Dropoffs are fun and easy. The hours are great. Super creative afterschool classes - I'm an especially big fan of messy art and cooking! There's a very simple-to-use meal delivery service for lunches. School parties foster the fun side of meeting other parents, weekly assemblies bring everyone together. Switching to BCD was one of the best choices we've made. It affects our lives in a positive way every single day and is a truly a gem in Boulder.

BCD is a great school filled with kids who love learning, parents who want their children to meet their potential and faculty to see, know and love their students. Our son has loved it. We moved him from Boulder public schools and he had three things to share: he's more challenged which he likes; he gets to participate in class more because the classes are smaller; and he loves his teachers. We were worried about the size but that hasn't been an issue. He's made good friends and he loves it. We couldn't be happier and we''d recommend it without hesitation!
