Battery Park Montessori is New York City's only trilingual Montessori program and one of just a few in the world.
We support all children in Nursery 1s through Kindergarten in English, Mandarin, and Spanish.
We are known for our warm, diverse and vibrant community of families dedicated to the internationally respected child-led Montessori approach.
In 2013, we launched in a beautiful riverside location in Battery Park City with a vision to bring a world class early childhood learning center to the downtown New York City community while offering children a quiet haven for peaceful, introspective learning.
We stand out among peer schools in the exquisite natural beauty of our school setting and our commitment to nurturing independence in children.

The education and social-emotional offerings at this hidden gem were amazing for us as a family and her daughter. The teachers are exceptional and extremely in tune with the kids. We spent 3 years at BPM and could not be happier.

Battery Park Montessori is an amazing school. I put both my daughters there years apart and they both thrived and had amazing experiences. The teachers are so caring and attentive. Both my kids loved going to school. The language program is great and most days they would come home singing songs in other languages which were very cute. Not only did they love school but with the help of the amazing faculty and staff both of my daughters were accepted at one of the top all-girls private schools in the city. They are currently excelling and I believe it has to do with a strong base from Battery Park Montessori.

Being part of the Battery Park Montessori family has been one of the best choices we`ve made for our family. We were lucky to be part of the school for 4 years. Our daughter started at the Toddler program and did the 3 years at the Casa classroom as well. We can`t say enough good things about the school, teachers, and staff. The kids and their well-being are the top priority. The school language program is excellent, as well as the academics. But what we like the most is how they take care of the kids` emotional development. Our daughter got accepted at all the schools we applied to and is now thriving at kindergarten academically and emotionally, and we know it`s because of the strong foundation she received during those 4 years at Battery Park Montessori.

Battery Park Montessori is the best Montessori school we have experienced in New York and abroad. We came across the school and its beautiful settings whilst I was pregnant with my firstborn. The natural light, outdoor space, and amazing location near the water made it stand out. When we visited the premises a couple of years later, the atmosphere inside was serene and the children working quietly and peacefully, which I was not expecting for 3 years old children! We waited for my son to turn 2 and he started on the day of his birthday. Since he started, my son bonded with his teachers and his classmates. The teaching staff impressed us with their profound knowledge of Montessori, going beyond regular caregivers and demonstrating knowledge and practice of the latest childhood development studies. My son was singing in Mandarin and Spanish, his favorite language at the time. All in all, he was exposed to four languages which have been extremely beneficial to him. Even during Covid, the team has been outstanding, making sure everyone in the community was safe, whilst showing the utmost courtesy and warmth to the children. My son progressed immensely not only in terms of academics (literacy and numeracy) but also emotionally and with his manners. My son attended for two years, between the age of 2 and almost up to the age of 4. We had to relocate to the UK and looked for similar standards of education. Unfortunately, we have found anything near the standard of Battery Park Montessori. We are still committed to this form of education and now both my son and daughter are in Montessori school. However, my son still mentions that he misses his school in New York and his teachers. We were fortunate to come to visit a few months ago and it felt like we had not left. The teachers made time to come and talk to us, as well as all of my son`s old classmates. The sense of community at Battery Park Montessori is very strong and the families joining are both diverse in background and united in terms of mindset. Hector and I have made friends for life there. Before my son joined Battery Park Montessori, we experienced other big names daycares but the experience was average at best and very bad at worst. I wished Battery Park Montessori had a 1-year-old section which I am so happy to hear that they do now. I would trust them with my child anytime.
