School Notes

  • The mission of The T.E.C. Schools are to cultivate children's natural curiosity and educate them to reach their highest potential and become accomplished, moral, and intrinsically satisfied individuals. Using the scientific tools of education in a Montessori environment, students meet their intellectual, social, and emotional needs by engaging in hands-on, real-life experiences to prepare for life.
  • The interdisciplinary curriculum at The T.E.C. Elementary school is carefully planned to develop the academic, social, and emotional skills of students in Preschool - Gr. 8. Language and math topics are taught at each student's individual level with Montessori materials, while science, history, geography, and practical life skills are introduced as big concepts. Students are then free to choose the follow-up activities at their level in each of these subjects. Technology, art, music, and fitness integrate history, geography, math, and language skills. Students not only study the fundamentals of each of these disciplines but also participate in long-term projects to gain proficiency in each area.
  • At The T.E.C. Schools we believe that true education lies not only in imparting academic skills but also in developing a sense of purpose in life. Our code of conduct is defined by the values we embody. At the T.E.C. Schools, faculty, and staff members, students, and parents live by six core values that define how we work and treat ourselves and others.
  • Be respectful.
  • Seek truth.
  • Strive for excellence.
  • Achieve balance.
  • Live with dignity and integrity.
  • Be joyful.

This is the second year my son has attended T.E.C. Last year he was in the 2.9-6 year old children's house, and this year as a 1st grader in the 1st-3rd grade classroom. The staff is patient, kind, positive, and understanding. They instill confidence in every student, which helps the students thrive to be the best versions of themselves. The Montessori curriculum is beneficial in the growth of child development. It prepares children in a well-balanced manner. The teachers give the children a sense of community and encouragement with their individual work in academics, life skills, emotional regulation, and teamwork. My son struggled with some areas of his academics, but with the staff and administration's experience, hard work, communication, and dedication, he has shown significant progress. They have helped him navigate through his shortcomings, all while giving him the confidence and positive reinforcement to believe in himself and succeed at anything he puts his mind to. My son's education and his ability to achieve and progress in areas where he previously struggled and excel in areas he is passionate about are all thanks to the entire staff at T.E.CT.E.C. is not just a school; it's a community and family.

Both my children are demonstrating great growth and learning at the TEC. The teachers are able to guide them kindly and insightfully through new skills and abilities, the school is welcoming and comfortable, kindness and friendships are fostered and cooperation is encouraged. Children have outdoor recess in the park most days and are able to learn from nature. Lessons in the nearby museum, concert halls, and nature labs are all awesome opportunities for growth and appreciation of the larger world.

My daughter started Kindergarten at the TEC school last year and all I can only say is that I feel incredibly lucky that I was able to enroll her at this fine school. Due to the pandemic, she had been somewhat isolated before starting at TEC and the teachers and staff have worked tirelessly to help her adjust to full-time schooling. They continue to accommodate her individual needs with infinite patience and understanding. Only a few weeks into the term, my daughter started showing positive changes in her attitude towards learning because her teachers are able to make it fun and interesting and inspire her to strive to do better without undue pressure. I cannot thank the staff at TEC enough for providing such a loving and nurturing learning environment for my child.

Our children love TEC. The teachers and staff are amazing and support each individual child's learning. Our children have learned responsibility, motivation, and pride in their work and accomplishments. They also take piano lessons in the afterschool program and they love learning music. They look forward to being able to go to the Worcester Art Museum again for art lessons. The TEC community of families is also wonderful and supportive.

This school provides a wonderful, hands-on learning environment with a Montessori curriculum. The educators are caring and and extremely communicative. They care so much about every individual student and their development. My son loves his schools days. He is a sensory and science lover who has discovered his love of the arts at this amazing school. His confidence and academic achievement have soared.
