School Notes

  • Dear Parents,Thank you for your interest in Castle Hills! We are an independent private Christian school whose mission is to "lead students to know Christ and make Christ known." As you consider bringing your children to our school, you will become part of a great legacy that now spans four generations. Today, we are experiencing our finest days in the Castle Hills story. Our best years are still before us for four key reasons.FIRST, God is working in the lives of our students. You will discover that we put Jesus in absolutely the center of everything we do on our campus. Students recognize the work of the Holy Spirit and begin to develop a biblical worldview and servant attitude.
  • SECOND, the right people are standing at the front of the room. Certainly one of the greatest miracles God has accomplished here is simply in who God has led to serve on this world class faculty. More than our teachers` impressive credentials, advanced degrees and experience, what matters most is who they are in terms of their character, life example, and influence in students` lives. Our teachers` influence in students` lives is simply transformative.
  • THIRD, we begin servant leadership training at the earliest ages. In Kindergarten, we begin "developing tomorrow`s leaders today." Castle Hills produces graduates who leave our school to lead in every area of culture, government, business, media, law, entrepreneurship, engineering, ministry and education. Leadership begins with focusing on the attitudes that all great leaders possess and value. High school students complete their education in a four-year program we call, The Leadership Academy. Leadership attitudes change the altitude and trajectory of a student`s life.
  • FOURTH, excellence is an ongoing pursuit in every area of the life of the school. On average, 85% of our graduates have received academic scholarships for college. Our students have won seven state championships in athletics, art and academic competitions in the past five years. Ten other times (during that same period), our students have finished third in State or better, during the same period. We believe this happens because of the excellent mindset of the students. Paul said, "Approve the things that are excellent." Nothing less than excellence will do.
  • YOU ARE INVITED to consider being a part of this family of believers in our quest to develop tomorrow`s servant leaders today!
  • Michael Pinkston
  • Superintendent
  • The Christian School at Castle Hills
  • Sample of notable school alumni/alumnae:
    • Matt Krause - Matt has been a proven conservative voice in the Texas House of Representatives since 2013. During his tenure as a state representative, Matt has fought to protect the unborn, restore trust in our electoral system, defend our Second Amendment rights, secure the border, reform skyrocketing property taxes, strengthen Texas families, preserve religious liberties, and support law enforcement. As Tarrant County Commissioner, Matt will continue to be a Faithful, Conservative, Fighter for Tarrant County residents, Texas values, and the Constitution.
    • Lori Windham - Lori Windham is vice president and senior counsel at Becket, where she has represented clients on cutting-edge religious freedom issues since 2005. She has represented parties before the Supreme Court, arguing Becket’s unanimous victory on behalf of foster families in Fulton v. Philadelphia, as well as working with the Becket team on its Supreme Court victories in Hosanna-Tabor, Hobby Lobby, and Little Sisters of the Poor. She won a victory for the world’s largest religious media network in EWTN v. Azar, staving off millions of dollars in government fines under unlawful the HHS mandate. She has won more than a dozen victories in federal appellate courts, including successful defense of cities and school districts sued for accommodating religion, victories for houses of worship facing discrimination in the land use process, and overturning a multimillion-dollar judgment against a major evangelical ministry. She recently won a first-in-the-nation injunction for an adoption agency threatened with shutdown for its religious beliefs.

We relocated to San Antonio mid-term and God could not have provided a more perfect school for our kids! Each and every person went out of their way to make us feel welcomed, involved, loved, and prepared! The transition has been seamless and we are so proud to be an Eagle! God is doing amazing things with this school!

We toured every major Christian School in the city and what stood head and shoulders above the rest about CHS was the commitment to leadership. The young people involved in the Open House shone brightly, and superintendent Mr. Pinkston leads by example, I've never witnessed a more servant-hearted educator in my life - he is always looking for ways to add value to the students, staff, parents, and local community. What a privilege it has been to lift him and the rest of the godly staff in prayer with other mothers meeting together on campus this year! My son has been blessed beyond measure to be able to attend this school, Jehovah Jireh makes it possible, and by God's ultimate grace and power, my daughter will begin attending in the coming school year! May God Almighty continue to bless this school well beyond the limits of human understanding, so that it might all be credited to Him and His great love of the excellent godly efforts taking place at CHS every day!

I have been a part of the Castle Hills family for my whole life. Both my brothers have graduated from here and I am in my ninth year here. God has worked through my life in so many ways through this school and it has been a second family to me. The teachers never fail to show their commitment to making the students succeed in everything we do. I've recently realized that at other schools administration doesn't show a big part in student life, but that is not the case for Castle Hills. Our superintendent goes through the halls showing God's love to all of us, and they are never too busy to talk to you. They care for us in a way you wouldn't find at most schools. This is a place where you build relationships that last a lifetime. God is all around this school, and His presence is known as soon as you walk through the doors. Castle Hills and the people here will always be a big part of my life, and I am blessed to be able to say I go here.

The Christian School at Castle Hills has been such a blessing to us this year. We recently moved to CHS and have been thoroughly encouraged by the excellent Biblical leadership, outstanding teachers, and the approachable supervisory staff who are always willing to listen. It's been a great transition for us.

Send your kids to this school. It's the best investment you can make in them. We never intended to put our kids in private school - we started them there because of the prek/daycare program but we fell in love with it and our kids have been at this school for 7 years. I have loved every single teacher and the entire administration. The Superintendent, Michael Pinkston, is world-class. I've especially appreciated his leadership and judgment over these past few years. This school is academically strong and your kids will be safe and loved. Your kids will learn to love Christ and each other. They encourage hard work, respect, and kindness. The teachers and staff are so connected that I don't feel like my kids could ever fall through the cracks personally or academically. We have felt a strong sense of community at this school as well. I know who my kid's friends are, I know their parents, and I appreciate that the other parents in my kid's classes/grades know my kids. This school will show up for your family in tough life situations as well. We have seen it and we have experienced it personally on multiple occasions. They are truly the hands and feet of Jesus. It's worth every penny. Your family will get more out of it than you could hope for.

We have been at CHFBS for over four years, being first-hand recipients of their incredible focus on building firm, personal relationships with Christ and above-average academic foundations. The teachers are experts in their fields and impart a love of learning and exploring, even in courses my child doesn't think she should like! We love CHFBS and are so excited about our partnership with them in the education and development of our child.

Castle Hills is a top-notch, college prep, Christian school -- a true gem on the central, north side of San Antonio. Classes are small, the teachers are award-winning, the curriculum is rigorous. The school has about 525 students from preschool through the 12th grade, making it the perfect place for my kids to grow up! We love this school! My elementary child learned to read this year (thanks to an awesome teacher!) and my upper level student is making Straight As, although she is having to work really, really hard to get those grades. The students attend weekly chapel and daily Bible classes, so my kids are growing in their Christian faith. The school offers great arts programs and athletics. I would HIGHLY recommend this school.

Coming from public education, I have been enormously blessed to teach at the high school level here. The administrative team strives to make our jobs as simple and student-focused as they need to be. The students are wonderfully adept at thinking critically and encourage one another to excel in their studies. Since moving here, my wife and I have been pampered by the support of the parents and their families through gifts of their time, encouragement, and assistance in helping their students become successful.

I cannot say enough about the quality of education at CHFBS. There is a culture of academic excellence at this school which is grounded in a Christ-centered atmosphere. It can be felt from your first encounter with the administration, faculty, and/or students. My children have been enriched by their time here and will never attend any other school. CHFBS is the best! ''We are because HE is''
