My husband and I toured Tamarack Waldorf School when our son was three. We were seeking an education for our son that would engage him as a whole person in an environment that would be emotionally and developmentally supportive. We were also concerned about how to prepare him for his future: What skills would he need to be happy in his life and contribute to society in a way that provides for his needs and engages him in his community (wherever he ends up)? When we saw the way that the younger children are held in terms of environment (natural materials, caring teachers) and how the grades children were challenged (sophisticated, beautiful art entwined with mathematics, literature, and science), we felt that this could be the place where he could feel safe enough to allow his mind to grow. We met children in 5th and 6th grade on the tour who were comfortable talking about their education with us, tourists of their school. They looked us in the eye. They appeared comfortable in their skin. It was beautiful. Now our son is in 4th grade and talking with adults and sharing his ideas and passions in a similar way to those kids we saw all those years ago on the tour. Critical thinking, creativity, and being able to work face to face with others in a respectful and compassionate way is something we value and believe will be in high demand in workplaces and communities of the future. We can't imagine a better environment where our son can attain these attributes than Tamarack Waldorf School.

Our children are so very happy at Tamarack Waldorf School! We have children in kindergarten and the grades and they are all happy as clams. The teachers of Tamarack are filled with love, the curriculum is filled with art, music, and age-appropriate (challenging!) academics, and the halls are filled with happy, engaged and engaging children of all races and creeds. It is a wonderful school doing wonderful things. It really is an astonishing place.

I attended a community event when my child was just an infant, and knew then that Tamarack was THE school to send my children. Now 8 years later I am just as in love with the school and the complete education unavailable at any other school in south-east WI. Waldorf is making headlines because it works!! It is the only experiential education, where children form their knowledge in doing. Beyond the Waldorf philosophies, the education at Tamarack Waldorf School intigrates music, art, handwork (knitting, crochet, etc), woodworking, movement, dance, foreign language. Attend an open house event and fall in love with this amazing school.
