I have three children currently at Sumner Academy and one that has graduated. My child who graduated was well prepared for high school and placed in honors classes at a highly competitive college prep private school. All of my children have had academic success thanks to the talented teachers and staff. Sumner Academy offers a sense of community we missed in our previous schools. We are so happy to be a part of the Sumner Academy family.

We have had a child at Sumner Academy for 8 years. The school has been a academically excellent and nurturing environment for our child, and we would never have wanted him anywhere else for this critical period of his educational life. We would wholeheartedly recommend this fine school for your child.

This is our second year at Sumner Academy, and my daughter loves it here! She attended public school for elementary and started SA in the 6th grade. She has really blossomed! She is challenged academically, participates in three sports, and has made some wonderful friends. The teachers and staff are all wonderful. We could not be happier with the quality of education that she is receiving at Sumner Academy!

Sumner Academy is a challenging, independent school. Its Sumner County location draws students from Sumner, Wilson, Trousdale, and Davidson counties. We use a blended approach, borrowing the best aspects of many educational models. Beginning in First Grade, teachers specialize in specific subjects. Students benefit from the expertise of more than one teacher and get to move between classrooms several times a day. Our small class sizes and policy of teaching to the top of the class allow for an accelerated pace of learning. Teachers also care deeply about the social and emotional well being of each child and offer guidance to excellence in character. Excellence in academics, character, and athletics are the standard at our school. Come tour with us to see the school for yourself and to determine if Sumner Academy is a fit for your child.
