Stratford's vision for the educational experience today rests on the same values first formed in 1960: excellence, integrity, freedom, responsibility, and community while equipping our students to face a more global future.
Middle Georgia's oldest non-sectarian independent school welcoming all faiths and backgrounds.
Stratford graduates have a 100 percent college matriculation at colleges in and out-of-state.
Our faculty has a 92% retention rate.  We offer 23 AP courses and 47% of our Advanced Placement students are named AP Scholars after their junior year.
Our students also outperform their peers in GPA (3.1 vs. 2.6) and 85% are HOPE eligible.
Since 1999, Stratford has had 27 National Merit Semifinalists.
STEAM offerings from K-12 grades - STEAM courses K-8 and Design courses 9-12.
Foreign language from K-12 grades - Spanish begins in Kindergarten and Spanish, French, Latin courses 9-12.

  • Founded in September 1960, Stratford Academy opened its doors at the historic Overlook Mansion on Coleman Hill with 117 students and 17 faculty members. Two years later, in 1962, the academy celebrated its first graduating class of 13 students, marking the beginning of a tradition of academic excellence. Since then, Stratford has continued to graduate many more students who embody its mission proudly.Today, Stratford Academy stands as an independent, non-sectarian, college preparatory school catering to students aged three through grade twelve. Committed to nurturing students from diverse backgrounds and talents, Stratford challenges each individual to achieve their full potential. Stratford is a welcoming school and community! It is amazing what my kids are learning and getting to experience. There is something for everyone at Stratford- from athletics to arts to STEAM, etc... I highly recommend Stratford!
