St. Peter Lutheran School

The Lutheran School is a very unique institution and occupies a very important place in our church, community and nation.
Parents and educators today are concerned with the education of the "whole child".
By the time a person reaches eighth grade, much of the total learning, including formation of attitudes, has taken place.
St. Peter Lutheran School strives to help a child grow academically, physically, spiritually, and socially, as did Jesus Himself.
St. Peter provides not only mental, physical, and social education, which is necessary and important to a child's development, but also religious instruction, which is necessary in completing the education of the "whole child.".

We've been part of the St. Peter's family for four years since my son started kindergarten here. That's exactly what it is, family!! A family feel with an education, staff, and teachers that are top-notch! Our son has been thriving here since day one. We contemplated homeschooling during COVID until we found St. Peter's! It was honestly the next best thing. It was very important to us, for our son to get the proper education and keep his Faith intact!! That is exactly what we continue to get here, year after year! We knew academically St. Peter's was amazing, but we never imagined the support and prayers that come your family's way, in time of need!! We have gotten through some tough times (including an unfortunate accident recently), with all of St. Peter's loving staff by our side. I couldn't imagine our son getting the love and support, that he needed to get through it, in any other school during that time. We are beyond blessed to have found St. Peter's Lutheran School in Schaumburg

I was a student at this school from about 1998-2013, and I feel like this school prepared me for high school and college through its rigorous yet approachable way of teaching. The teachers were always highly qualified and usually made students feel welcome. I would say that I found a passion for science, writing, and the Spanish language. I was always a B/C student who wasn`t good at testing, but I always felt motivated to do my best work and with the support of my teachers I eventually was able to improve drastically in school. Because of St. Peter, I ended up becoming an almost straight-A student in high school, and finally in college, I was able to achieve a 3.96 GPA. This school will give your students the tools to succeed long term. I`m currently studying in a Masters's program to become a bilingual special education teacher and I frequently reflect on how my teachers inspired me at St. Peter so that I may be able to inspire and share compassion with future generations of learners. -A Living ExampleJoshua Ruane.

St. Peter is a family! I am an alumnus, parent, and employee. My experience has many layers. I would most definitely recommend St. Peter Lutheran Church and School to all parents with children of all ages. The staff is dedicated and caring. Your child's well-being is their priority. Small class sizes = big results!

My wife and I opted for private school because we wanted to have a say when it came to the education of our children. We wanted the get them the best academic foundation possible but as a Christian family we wanted a school where the administration and teachers shared our worldview. We have two daughters in their second year at St. Peter Lutheran School and it has proven to be exactly what we were looking for. The education they receive is distinctive. There is a real feeling of an old school approach to education at St. Peter. Students here have access to many of the modern technologies and virtual tools available in schools today but what we appreciate most is St. Peter`s traditional approach in the classroom. Our daughters, Pre-School and First Grade, say the pledge of allegiance every day, pray in the classroom and go to chapel every Wednesday. Our First Grader is not in front of a screen or on a tablet most of the day. She is putting pencil to paper and turning pages in her textbooks. And we`ve seen the benefits. She was reading at a Second Grade level when she was in Kindergarten and she continues to thrive in this environment. We look forward to the years to come at St. Peter.

St. Peter's School, is the best-kept secret in Schaumburg. The entire staff, from teachers to the office are all very loving and dedicated to their work and care about their students far more than I have ever seen in a public school in this area. Thank you, St. Peter's for giving my son the tools to succeed in school and the confidence to strive to do better.

St. Peter offers an outstanding Christian based education. The incredible staff members at this school are 100% invested in the development of each and every child who attends. We are beyond thankful that under their thoughtful guidance and care, our kids are thriving academically, spiritually and socially. St. Peter continues to help lay the faith foundation for so many, while also preparing children to excel throughout their school journey.

I attended St. Peter when I was growing up and I am very thankful that my twins are current students at the school now. They have been at St. Peter since they were in kindergarten and now they are in 6th grade. My children are receiving a wonderful education where they are challenged on a daily basis and they have teachers who are very dedicated to their students. My children have also been involved in numerous extracurricular activities like choir, basketball, track, band, chess club, geography club and Science Olympics. St. Peter offers great learning opportunities outside of the classroom too. This past fall my kids went to Walcamp in Kingston, Illinois with their class and several teachers. This was a fun learning experience for them. I am so thankful for the opportunities St. Peter gives my children and for the quality education they are receiving.

My wife and I were looking for a preschool for our son approximately 3 years ago. While discussing options with a family friend of ours that has 3 adult children that went to St. Peter Lutheran many years ago, they stated that the money they spent on their children`s elementary education was "the best money that we ever spent". Three years into our oldest child's education, we couldn't agree more with this statement. It is impressive to note that our kindergartner is now reading and writing, learning Spanish (which is taught in grades K through 8), and is learning these things with a great sense of joy. He LOVES this school. It`s also important to note that St. Peter's K-8 standardized test scores are consistently above other schools in the area. They are an academically sound school. We also love the fact that our son is being spiritually fed as well. As a parent and an educator, I am comforted to know that our child will read through the Bible during his years at St. Peter Lutheran. Life is going to be challenging. It`s satisfying to know that our child is getting a solid education that also includes the spiritual component.

I began sending my kids to St. Peter as pre-schoolers planning to attend our local public school after. It was not long after the school year began that I began to think this the place they should continue to grow and learn. The teachers and staff have been amazing, always willing to put in the extra time to help when needed. My girls enjoy the smaller classes with more one to one time with the teachers if needed. I too have enjoyed the family feel of a private school and met so many great parents in the time there. There is always some activity happening that the kids and parents can join either separately or together. This has been the best decision I have made in schooling for my kids. I highly recommend this school.

After school one day this fall my son jumped up and down and exclaimed "I love my school!" I felt affirmed yet again that St. Peter is the school for our son. He is thriving academically, socially, and spiritually because of the teachers, staff, and students at St. Peter. It is an optimal learning community that truly cares for the students. My husband and I are increasingly convinced that we made the right choice. In the words of friends who have adult children who went to St. Peter through 8th grade: "That is the best money we ever spent." S Carlson

We couldn`t be happier at St. Peter Lutheran School! The education the kids receive is second to none. The faculty there is absolutely amazing and the curriculum challenges the kids in a very positive way. The summer programs and after school kid care is in a class of its own. My daughter is in 2nd grade and had gone since preschool. She has never felt the urge to stay home from school for any reason. She wakes up eager every day to begin a new challenge. We have twins who are 1 now and their journey through St. Peter is just around the corner and I couldn't be more excited for them!

St. Peter Lutheran in Schaumburg is the place to be. We have 6 children, ranging in ages from 14 years to 18 months, all of them have gone or will go through St. Peter's since 3 year old Preschool. Our eldest daughter was the first to have graduated 8th grade from St. Peter's in the spring. She now attends Conant High School and has made a wonderful transition. We can`t put a price on the education and experiences our children have been so blessed to have had while at St. Peter's. Our journey at St. Peter`s, has been nothing but excellent. St. Peter's has so much to offer, from a rigorous academic curriculum, to numerous extra-curricular offerings. They even have a top-notch before and after school kid care program for working parents. St. Peter's is a genuine God-loving family that consists of amazing teachers, staff members, church members, pastors and countless friends. St. Peter's not only educates students and does it well, but they go above and beyond to inspire students and to encourage students to be involved in all sorts of school-related opportunities. We love St. Peter's!

My daughter graduated from St. Peter this past May. She attended for 11 years (3yr old preschool - 8th grade). In that time I felt a true partnership with the faculty and staff in her education, both academically and spiritually. There were times during the 11 years where we questioned whether we were able to afford to continue paying private school tuition. We made the choice to put tuition payments first because we couldn't see finding the nurturing, challenging, energetic atmosphere anywhere else. This commitment was validated this fall as our daughter started high school in a public school. The foundation set at St. Peter has given her an edge both academically and socially. We have watched her blossom as she applies her strong work ethic and Christian foundation to her studies in honors and AP courses as well as social relationships.

Both of my children attend St. Peter. The teachers and administration are dedicated and committed to each student. Teachers are willing to meet with students before or after school to provide additional instruction to ensure the student succeeds. Not only is St. Peter academic focused, sports and clubs are offered year round. Sending my children to St. Peter has been one of the best decisions we have made as parents.

I have three students at St. Peter, a 5th grader, 2nd grader and 1st grader. We have been attending the school since 2013 and we all love the school. We recently moved out of Schaumburg, yet still attend the school. The school has a very friendly vibe and it is a great community to be a part of. The Principal and Assistant Principal are very visible at the school and greet parents and students alike, either in the parking lot or at the school entrance every day. The class sizes are small and the fantastic teachers all care and believe in their students. The students are challenged and academically St. Peter`s MAP results are higher than the National average. At the 2017 Science Olympics St. Peter students took home 12 out of a possible 24 prizes. I really like the Accelerated Reading Program run by the Librarian which encourages and rewards children for reading throughout the year. There are many sporting opportunities such as track and field, basketball and volley ball and extracurricular activities like chess, computer and geography clubs, choir and band. The PTL is very active and provides many fellowship opportunities throughout the year to meet fellow parents like the Daddy/Daughter Dance, Mother Son Event, Christmas Carnival and the Early Childhood Potluck to name a few. Some of my best friends are parents I have met in my children`s classes.I highly recommend this school.

I am a parent of a 3rd grader at St Peter Lutheran. My son has been attending the school since Kindergarten and loves every minute of it. Small class sizes provide a lot of focused attention of well educated teachers and support staff. Teachers themselves are very demanding and push their students to excel. This is reflected by MAP tests where St Peter students rank above district and national averages. On top of regular classes, the school offers a lot of extracurricular activities, chess or math club for example. I recommend St Peter Lutheran School without any hesitation to everyone.

This is a tremendous school with a dedicated and accredited staff. Multiple athletic programs, clubs including chess and computer clubs. Standardized testing shows that St. Peter is at or above the public schools in the area. School participated in a Science competition with about 2 dozen schools this year and St. Peter placed in top 3 in all but 2 of the 12 categories and in several took home multiple medals. Fantastic teachers and principal, dedicated to doing what is best for the students. I have 1 current student and 2 that have already graduated from St. Peter and were well prepared for high school.
