School Notes

  • St. Mark's Preschool and Kindergarten is a licensed nondenominational school program for 2 1/2 through kindergarten age children. Since 1966, our mission has been to create a community that fosters the development of each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical potential and nurtures each child's spirit and zest for life. St. Mark's Preschool and Kindergarten provides a supportive community within which young children expand their learning and development. We view children as feeling, thinking, creative, and growing individuals. Children are encouraged to become problem-solving, sensitive, contributing, and responsible members of the school community. The curriculum at St. Mark's is child-centered and focuses on thematic units and play as a dynamic form of learning that involves a wide range of intellectual, social, emotional, and physical capabilities. The creative arts and play activities throughout the school day provide opportunities for the total development of the child.
