My children have been attending SJE for 4 years now and it will definitely be our last. We have been happy under the previous 2 administrations. Mrs. Danowitz and Mrs. Strom were fantastic and knew how to run a school with encouragement, family values, and firmness. The administrator now Mrs. Lucariello is a first-year principal from the so-called prestigious (and dare I say laughable) Onward Leaders program and it is completely clear that she has no idea what she is doing. 4 teachers have quit this year, for half of the year my son didn`t have a religion teacher (it`s a Catholic school without a religion teacher like what was I even paying for?!), and one class didn`t have an actual homeroom teacher for months. She got rid of the Spanish program for half a year by not hiring a teacher before the school year began and canceled the computer program that students and parents loved. Mrs. Lucariello isn`t even friendly or polite to me as a parent either. She ignores her parents, like me, who come to the office and stay in her office room. There is no transparency between her and the families either! Her emails don`t provide any information and if problems are emailed to her then they get ignored. My child witnessed a special needs student being ridiculed and bullied. I emailed Mrs. Lucariello and was not given a reassuring response that the bullying would be addressed. Instead, my child went to two teachers who tried their best to stop the bullying. It is so horrible and depressing to see a great school go to complete and utter poop. Save your money and go to another school where the principal is actually an experienced leader and not a first-year experiment.
