St. Jerome Academy is a founder and leader of the national movement to restore liberal-arts education in Catholic primary schools.
SJA's educational plan and our school's programs have been reported in many local, national and Catholic media outlets, including The Washington Post, CNN, The New Yorker, National Public Radio, and EWTN.
We currently serve nearly 500 pre-K through 8th-grade students in Prince George's County, eastern Montgomery County, and Northeast Washington, D.C.
SJA's early-learning program follows the teachings and standards of Maria Montessori, while our K-8 program implements the classical, liberal-arts based St. Jerome Academy Educational Plan.
For the 2023-2024 school year, we received 303 applications for admission and admitted 88 new students, for an admissions rate of 29 percent -- lowest of any primary school in the State of Maryland.

SJA is a magnificent school. Starts from the amazing principal Mr. Flynn who truly cares about each child and family. All the teachers are truly a gift from above. Their sweet, nurturing, kind personalities is something like you have never experienced. The school is truly a close knit family atmosphere. My family has been at the school 3 years now and can`t imagine my sons schooling anywhere else.

The curriculum is impressive. The teachers promote deep-thinking across grade-levels. The memory work (singing) that the lower school children do is impressive. We are also believe the kindness of the teachers has been a positive influence on our child. We switched from public school and we're really happy with our decision.
