Our son started in the Little Georgie`s program at a year old and is now in the JK class. We were immediately blown away with the school`s educational approach. The play based curriculum keeps him engaged. Academically he`s learned so much and is met where he is then pushed just enough to keep him excited, but not frustrated. St. George`s approach to developing the whole child makes it a warm and caring place. The teachers get to know each child so well instead of trying to fit each child in a certain mold. The school has been a true blessing.

We are in our 3rd year at St. George's. Our son is a second-grader, and we love it. He has been able to get involved in lower school sports that were just introduced this year. He has fostered friendships with his fellow classmates that I know will carry on through the years. St. George's though they have a great focus on academics has been able to create a balance with creativity, fun, and innovation. The teachers are awesome, many of which have been at the school for years. They are very accessible, just an email/text away, and they take a genuine interest in your child, even attending their sporting events. We have felt welcomed from the beginning and I believe that we made the right choice for our child. We really love St. George's. -Jensen Family

We have 2 children at SGIS, in 3rd and 5th grade, and have been a St. George`s family for 7 years. When choosing St. George`s, we were not only blown away by the strong academic performance of the students and the beautiful campuses but by the incredible sense of community. It`s a little hard to even put into words, but the teachers and faculty are really part of our extended family and care deeply about the kids. I`ll never forget when my son was in Pre-Kindergarten and was nervous about going to an after-school soccer program. I spoke with his teacher about it and she said not to worry. It turns out, he was too shy to participate that first day, so she sat with him for 30 minutes after school was out, just keeping him company and watching the practice with him. And that isn`t an isolated incident. When my daughter sustained an injury and ended up in the hospital, there was an overwhelming amount of support from not only their own teachers but other teachers as well. When the kids have a lemonade stand each year for charity, dozens of teachers show up to support their endeavor. They come to watch (or coach!) the kids at their sporting events. It`s really just amazing...I could go on and on with examples of what an incredible group of people makes this school so successful. Truly, our St. George`s community is like family-the parents, the teachers, the coaches-I just can`t say enough about how much we love and appreciate them. My children have thrived at St. George`s-from strong academics to a vast opportunity to participate and excel in sports, to unique and fun ways to learn (they`re outside A LOT), SGIS provides a well-rounded approach to learning and subsequently helps create well-rounded, civic-minded graduates. I wholeheartedly recommend it!!!

My husband and I did a thorough search of schools in the Memphis area when we were looking for a transition for our boys. We know that our boys are at school more waking hours in the day than they are at home, so the place we entrust them daily has to be an extension of the values and goals we have for them. St. George`s is just that. The high level of academic and extracurricular excellence coupled with the core values they are integrated into every part of their school day makes us confident about the choice we made 3 years ago to be a part of the Gryphon family.

My husband and I have 5 children at SGIS. We love that they focus on meeting your child where they are at and helping them become the best they can be, all while doing this in a very nurturing environment. We love the close-knit community and feel like we have an active role in our children's education. SGIS has a hands-on approach to learning that allows children to learn the many ways to figure out the answer to a question, not just what the answer is. Our children love school, their teachers, and their friends. We look forward to our bright future at St. George's Independent School.

We couldn`t be happier with our decision to send our children to St George`s. We began our journey with SGIS in March 2019. The school did a wonderful job in transitioning my girls mid-year and welcoming us to the Germantown area from out of state. Currently, we have two children enrolled in St George`s (2nd Grade and Junior Kindergarten) and a toddler in Little Georgie`s. We are confident in the investment we are making for our children`s future. The education and community are top-notch. Two of the things we love most about SGIS are the focus on public speaking from the early years up and the diverse community that can be found within.

This is our 7th year at St. George's as our son started in SK. We have been amazed since day one at the educational opportunities St. George's has to offer. At the end of the day they "Build a Kid" as they stated on our first visit. They not only educate a child but teach them how to use what they have learned in the real world which is a steady progression. In addition, the staff challenges the kids to think out of the box to bring out their inner creativity. This year we transitioned to the middle school at the Collierville campus. As amazing as the campus is and the Athletic opportunities and facilities that are offered; the vast educational opportunities these kids have are even more impressive. Our son has a passion for learning and SGIS offers the perfect platform for him along with the Athletic and extracurricular opportunities offered at SGIS.

If you are looking for a top-notch education, a faculty and staff that not only cares about grades but also the students as young developing minds, and a diverse student body that represents the city that we live in, then St. George's is the school for you. From getting to have Science class outside on the Wolf River to being allowed to stand up in the back of class when your legs are hurting (middle school growing pains), St. George cares about its students and families deeply. This not only results in loyalty from families, but shows up in test scores as well. Students are being challenged and loved, therefore giving their best in everything that they do. As people who strongly believe in equitable education for all, SGIS has shown us that this is possible.

We have two children enrolled at St. George`s and have enjoyed being part of the SGIS community for the last 11 years. It really does take a village to raise kids and we love that we have this level of trust within the community we`ve chosen. Academic excellence is an important cornerstone of our children`s education but can`t be the sole focus in developing well-rounded kids. St. George`s understands this and strives to balance formal education with hands-on learning, while continuing to develop our kids physically, socially and spiritually as well. Led by Episcopal values, civic service is something valued and there is an intentional focus on character education from PreK all the way through Senior year. And as parents of kids who love sports and the outdoors, you just can`t beat SGIS`s Collierville campus! We love SGIS 5 stars!

We are a family that has been at SGIS since our son was in Pre-K. Our son is now about to transition from middle school to high school this next school year and we could not be more thankful for all our school has done for him in so many different ways. St. George`s is a special place and a true community that supports challenges and encourages all interests. The opportunities our son has had mean a lot to us as parents and to him. When given multiple ways to be challenged and to be part of a group and even a leader, that`s when you grow, and that`s the environment that St. George`s offers.

Our family moved to the Memphis area five years ago, and by far the best decision we made was choosing St. George's for our sons. Through celebratory times, achievements, challenges, and struggles, we have found St. George's to be an extraordinary family of educators whose top priority is always what is best for our students. From SGIS's focus on social-emotional development to the variety of program offerings, from their enthusiasm and commitment to adapting to challenges while embracing the good in everything, to their active learning approach in classrooms led by some of the most creative and inspiring teachers ever created...we continue to be grateful for and amazed by the leaders and teachers at this school.

We moved our first son to SGIS in 9th grade and our second in 8th grade. We wish we would have moved them earlier! We were welcomed to the SGIS family in so many ways. My sons are getting a great education. They are not made to fit into a mold but instead, the school lets their individuality shine through. There is something for both of them on the sports fields, in the classroom, and in the numerous clubs. The teachers are engaged and push the kids to learn and advocate for themselves. No school is perfect but SGIS strives to continue to improve and serve the needs of all students.
