St Dominic Catholic School, in partnership with the Church, the St Dominic Parish community, our state and the family, provides a Catholic-Christian education through which Gospel values are presented, lived and fostered.
Our strong academic programs, taught by dynamic teachers and administered by an enthusiastic faculty, follow the Ohio Department of Education Standards as well as the Graded Course of Studies for the Diocese of Cleveland.
Students are given instruction in core curriculum classes, including Religion, as well as what we call "Specials" – Art, General Music, Band, Computers, Physical Education, Spanish, and Library Skills.
All of our teachers are certified by the State of Ohio, except for the Spanish teachers in grades K-6 because Spanish is considered an enrichment subject in those grades.
Students who take Spanish in grades 7 and 8 are being prepared to test out of Spanish level 1 when they get to high school.
Tutoring is available in reading and math. Additionally, junior high teachers are available after school for extra help in the core courses Currently, Smartboard technology is being integrated into our classrooms.
