As a parent of 6 years at our beloved SCB School, I could not be happier with the fine combination of academics, faith, and family atmosphere at St. Charles Borromeo School. The enrollment in the past 3 years has gone up over 50%, which is because the word is out that it is a very positive place to be. Newspaper articles have been written annually about the great student achievement here, including the school's standardized test scores, and this school ranks nationally in the top 10% in many, many areas. The school is better than ever, class sizes averaging 20 per class, and the staff age ranges from 24 to mid 50's in age, most with Master's degrees, and is very caring. They say they want it to be each child's "family away from home", and that family atmosphere can be clearly seen each day. Also have a cutting edge technology program and 3 computer labs for instruction from PreK up through 8th grade.

Wonderful learning environment with supportive teachers. High degree of superior education. Most children leaving ScB to go into high school find themselves in AP classes. Children entering regional contests will go on to State. Overall, a true family environment where most parents are heavily involved with the education of their child.

When our family moved to Hampshire several years ago I had two young children. One of my children at the time was entering their preschool years. We like most new parents went on all of the tours and weighed our options carefully as we really wanted to make the right choice for our first child. St. Charles Borromeo Little Saints Pre- School was our last stop. Once we took the tour and spoke with Miss Amy we knew that SCB was the proper place for our daughter. Although my husband went to Catholic grade school up until 8th grade I myself attended public school and never dreamed that I would pay the money to send my children to a private school. My daughter was happy with her friends that she had made in preschool, however, and loved her school. I loved how much she had grown and learned in two short years as well as how far ahead she was. I again knew that we needed to stay at SCB at least for her primary years. As that was the trend when we started at SCB that most children attended the school until they reached their Jr. High years and then they went somewhere else. I believe that there were eight 8th grade graduates the year that we started the school. In the years that have passed we have welcomed in a new principal, seen some of the staff leave, and have welcomed in a new young teaching staff (some of which are past graduates of the school). The school has doubled in size with all of these changes and the test scores are in many areas in the top ten percent of the nation. No school around this area can say as much. All of the parents I have met and continue to meet year after year are very friendly and I have always been welcomed in whatever activity that I have volunteered for. The trend is no longer to leave rather the classes are staying in tact and we are only losing families to moving. Several of our classes now have a wait list to get in them. Our daughter has since flown up and is on her way to bigger grades and two of our other children now attend the school. My husband and I have not for a second regretted the decision we made many years ago. SCB for our family and for the other 136 families whose children now call St.Charles Borromeo School their second home really are proud to be part of SCB.

I have now attended SCB for three years, this being my 8th grade year. I had attended a public school before and when I attended SCB it was the the best thing that had ever happened to me everyone is so kind and the education is AMAZING!!!!
