- Shining Light Academy is founded on two key principles. The idea of FAITH and FAMILY.
- Faith is built into everything that we do: chapel services, Bible classes, and academic courses taught through the lens of God's Word. Our teachers are all professing Christians who love the Lord and desire to see your students succeed.
- Family is who we are! We are intentional about developing the relationships and rapport on campus. From top to bottom, there is a genuine atmosphere of love and trust. We support each other through challenges and celebrate each other through victories.
- Shining Light provides a consummate experience for your student. Our upgraded facilities and technological advancements help to provide an up-to-date educational foundation. Experienced, passionate teachers help to then build knowledge on that foundation.
- SLA also offers a thriving and competitive sports program. In fact, we have brought home 6 state championships in the past 3 years! While basketball is the big draw, SLA offers 5 more sports including: men's and women's soccer, baseball, golf, and volleyball.
- Finally, Shining Light has expanded our Fine Arts program significantly and offers opportunities for your child to explore their creative side. With electives like Drama, Art, Shop, and Journalism, there is a little of something for each student's unique interests. Further, SLA competes in state and national competitions in many of those fields. Over the past 3 years, SLA has brought home more than 2 DOZEN top 3 ribbons in Art, Academics, and Drama, including 2 national representatives.
- At Shining Light, our motto is "Arming leaders for Christ." To us, that represents giving your student a well-rounded education, seeing them grow as Christians. and hone the skills God has given them to bring honor and glory to Him! Our ultimate goal is to give you the best academic product for your money. At SLA, we believe we have accomplished just that.

Great school full of caring and loving teachers. Smaller class sizes that help with more 1 on 1 teaching. Mr. Satterfield is a very nice and loving principal. I'm glad my child was able to attend SLA
