We have had our kids at Prince of Peace for six years now. Ever since my oldest started first grade,. Our younger kids attended PK and KG as well. We have had every single teacher there over the years and the kids have loved them all. We are not Lutharan but want an affordable Christian education for our kids that closely matches teachings of our own faith. Although there are some key differences, much of their theology is acceptable to us. The kids are regularly expected to memorize Bible verses in younger grades and in middle school years, they have them learn more Lutheran-specific teachings that they are required to memorize. They do have church services, which they have to attend once a week as a student body. As far as the school itself goes, they have many grades and share one classroom and teacher. Like 2nd and & 3rd grades, is taught together in one classroom. Younger grades PK to 1st each have their own classroom, teacher and an aid, but 2nd thrigh 8th are split up into 4 classrooms/teachers. We were not really aware of this when we started at this school and it was a big shock to us, so I just want to put it out there. However it has worked fine for our kids and they don't seem to mind it at all. The education is good, all my kids have learned so much over the years and continue to test above average on the standardized tests. My son was reading chaper books out of kindergarten and that was all due to the wonderful PK and KG teachers. I can't take any credit for that. The school offers many after school sports for boys and girls as well as all sorts of fun clubs throughout the year. They've done things like jump rope and cooking as well as coding and many other things. There is also an annual school play night where every single kid has a part in. There is also a talent show that kids can choose to participate in as well. There are options for during school music lessons in addition to the regular music class and choir. Chior performances and the all school Christmas show are often on Sundays during church hours, as they have the kids preform for their congregation. This is probably the one thing that we do not like as our kids have never been able to participate in those as we simply cannot miss our own church services for a performance of any kind. I know for most folks it's not an issue, but it's a big one for us. The last thing that I wish was different is the lunch program. There isn't one. All lunches have to be packed at home they do let them heat up food though. On Friday's they offer pizza for pre-order, but we still have to pack snacks, sides and drinks to go along with the pizza. 3 lunches a day 5x a week for many years takes a toll. I really really wish there was a school lunch option to buy.Long story short, is the school perfect and everything we want it to be? No, I don't think any school is. But they truly care for our children, they teach them well and they show them the love of Christ every single day. At the end of the day what more can we ask for?

This school has been such a wonderful environment, both for our son and family. It is such a relief to be able to fully trust the people taking care of your child. We feel welcomed and invited to be included in his education and schooling experience. We have never felt out of the loop or disconnected, which is something we really value. Sending your child to spend so much of their day with someone else is incredibly difficult. PoP makes this easy because they aren't strangers, they are more like family, and they make sure you know you are part of that family. They truly care about all of the children there as well as their parents. I wish we could give back to them as much as they've given to us, knowing, without a doubt, that my child is safe and loved there. We needed Christ in our lives, and this school is not only fulfilling the educational needs of our children but is nourishing their souls with the love of God.

Our 2 kids have attended POP for the past 5 yrs and we love the small class sizes, the care of all the teachers and the more individualized approach to education. It's also the most affordable Christian education in the valley. Wish they had a high school!

This school has been wonderful! My daughters and I moved here from out of state and the staff here welcomed us with open arms. The teachers care greatly, are very talented, the curriculum is wonderful and the peace of mind that my kid was safe and receiving a quality God-centered education is priceless. The smaller class sizes also allow for kids to advance (or slow) their education according to their own needs, yet still within a great class structure. I love the smaller class sizes, as well as the integration of Pre-K to 8th grade, and as the older kids look out for the younger ones, the younger kids have great older role models and look up to the bigger kids. Everyone knows you and your student. There is much grace and love here, plus wonderful academics, sports, art & music. It is truly amazing what this school has managed to accomplish and pack in for the kids despite having limited numbers. My daughter was introduced to volleyball, basketball, chimes, and other things she didn't realize she even had an interest in until she tried them here. Their basketball team recently won 3rd place in an out-of-state tournament (in WI at the Luther Preparatory School) against many teams with bigger, talented players. If you have any doubts about this school, just have a visit and see for yourself!

This school is unbelievable. From the pastors to the principal- excellent. I feel welcomed every single time I am at the school. The teachers are willing to work on any issues I have. They listen to me and my concerns. The principal, Mr. Paulsen always greets us. Everyone greets us. The church is the best community I have ever had.

This is our 1st year at PoPs for our kindergarten child but was not new to a Christian School. We like the options of half-day and full days of kindergarten, the small class size, and that she is learning about Christ as well.
