My son did not like his school when we moved back to Texas at TISD. He was developing anxiety regarding not wanting to use the restrooms, which was very concerning that they were filthy with broken doors, etc. Other than sports, he had nothing good to say and hated school. PCCS welcomed us with open arms, my son has never been happier, and he is thriving with his classes. Their national test scores from last year came out this week and they were all in the 90's in regard to the national percentile. That is amazing! Prayer and faith in school, plus loving your classes, fellow students and staff...this is priceless to me as a parent. No more fear of restrooms here. Everyone is so helpful here, no way I would ever choose anywhere else.

We have 4 kids now at PCCS, and we love it! My son started a year ago, and this semester we enrolled the other 3, so now we have kiddos in 4th, 6th, 9th, and 11th grades. We absolutely love the small class size. The teachers really know the kids - and not just their academic levels, but they know their personalities, and most importantly where they are spiritually too! We also really love the parent partnership program! I love being on campus and volunteering. It helps me get to know my kids' teachers and friends better. In public school, I was not allowed to hardly be on campus or help out with much. I didn't really know their teachers or friends as well as I do now. We also love that they have a Bible class every day, and they have chapel once a week. I would say all of my kids seem happier, calmer, less anxious about things, and more at peace going to PCCS now instead of a huge public school. We are SO thankful for PCCS!!

Moving to Poetry Christian has been the best school move we have made. In the last few years, my son said he didn't like school and that it was boring. Well after going to Poetry he now says he LOVES school and even his teacher said my son LOVES to learn. He made straight As in 4th grade at Poetry for the first time since kindergarten. He is depressed that school is out for the summer and can't wait to go back!! I'm like, really son? lol In the 4th grade, he learned farming and how to grow lettuce. He can take the Chuck Norris Karate program as an elective. And can play basketball and other sports at a lower grade than most schools. Another thing I said is when he gets to Poetry he just feels peace. I responded, that the Spirit of God moving in that place. And the 2 times I heard a student in the am do the pledge and say a prayer I was MOVED To tears!!! Dr. Horan and her team are sold out to Jesus first and foremost, as well as sold out to the students. I would recommend this school to anyone and everyone I meet. May King Jesus continue to anoint Poetry Christians as they mold and shape lives for eternity!!!

AWESOME school. My son has been there for less than 1 month. He loves it. We had a scare yesterday ... he was unresponsive at school, and they called an ambulance and took him to the hospital. The principal rode in the ambulance with him, and the school stopped and prayed for him. You won't find that in public schools. Lots of messages from teachers & students asking how he was. A Community of Prayer is not something to be taken lightly. He has now finished the 2023 school year. Staying Sharp through the summer and looking forward to the 2023-2024 school year. We love the environment!

This school was a game changer for my son and daughter. The teachers, staff, students, and fellow parents all care deeply for each student, their future, and their relationship with the Lord. Can't praise them highly enough! (My son attended his senior year hereafter K-10 homeschool and 11th at a charter school. And my daughter attended here her sophomore year and will continue, after K-9 homeschool.)

This school has been an absolute blessing for my daughter. She HAD severe separation anxiety going into her Primer year at PCCS. I wasn't sure how we were going to get through those first few weeks but, Ms. McBride, Ms. Gilmore, and Ms. Cato all took such amazing care of her throughout the day that she was completely over it by the end of week 2. She loves her teachers and is excited to see them each morning. The staff at PCCS truly do love these kids!

Last year I decided to enroll my 4th-grade daughter who has severe anxiety around other people and has only gone to homeschool at that point. She did not pass the entrance because she was not at the level the other children her age did due to her homeschooling. I was almost in tears as my health has deteriorated to the point I was afraid not to put her in school because homeschooling was becoming too much for me with the doctor's appointments. The staff at PCCS did not just send us on our way, one of the teachers volunteered to work with her and help me after school that year to get her ready for this year. Needless to say in one year working with them she went from 1st-grade work to 3rd grade and she aced the entrance test. I can't say enough good about PCCS, they are more like a family than a school. The students work hard and the curriculum is much more challenging than public school, but everyone works together to make it happen. My daughter took no time to adjust to going and loves it. She loves every one of her teachers and has the opportunity to take classes she enjoys like private piano and archery to name a few. Love ya PCCS!

Four years ago we brought two boys, sixth and eighth grade to PCCS from a public-school setting. We instantly fell in love with the care and support shown to our family. Our youngest, at the time, was having great difficulty keeping up in math. The specialized approach given to him has helped tremendously. Both children thrive at PCCS and are excited to be there. We are so grateful for the faith-based education and the dedication poured into our kids, year after year.

We have been at PCCS for 5 years now and we love it! It is such a great environment with like-minded students. We value the small classes and personal relationships with teachers, staff, and other parents. I highly recommend this amazing school.

It is hard to put into words how amazing PCCS is! The campus feels like my second home and the people are like my family. It is hard to find a school where the parents are active and engaged but PCCS has figured out a system to keep parents involved in their child`s education which helps lead to the success of each student. PCCS is a school rooted in faith, and you can feel God`s presence through the halls. What a blessing it was for my husband and me to move to the small town of Poetry before our children were even a thought. God knew what he was doing when he sent us to this little town!

Three years ago, I walked through the doors of Poetry Community Christian ("PCCS") and enrolled 7th grader who was not properly home-schooled and as a result very far behind in everything from academics, sports, communications and interactions with other children and adults. Within the 1st year, with the proper guidance and support system, he was able to catch up and, in some cases surpass others within his same grade level. This is a true testament to the dedication of administrators, staff, teachers, parents and the student body who all accepted him without judgement or bullying. Simply said PCCS is a wonderful school with an overall excellent staff and prides itself in its academic program. The school prioritizes a balance between academics and athletics allowing for each student`s strengths to come to the forefront. Although it`s a small school, its unlike anything I`ve seen before. Academically it prepares each student for college by using college prep curriculum and processes to make certain the student understands the importance of driving to achieve. The athletic department has something for everyone, examples include; karate, basketball, baseball and volleyball. Art, theater, dance, music and voice lessons are available to those who excel or expand on performing and fine arts. PCCS is Christian based however it does not center around one denomination allowing for everyone to feel at ease and not pressured. Whether you attend church or not, you are part of the school family. It is a close-knit community and fosters great student-teacher and parent relationships. If you are new to the school, you will fit in! The overall cost of tuition is carefully monitored and managed to make certain they offer the best value at minimal cost, this does include parent involvement. In my opinion the best part of PCCS are the systems in place to make sure that your child succeeds and will receive the best education possible. If you are challenged in areas like Math or English, you can request tutoring. If your child has dyslexia or another learning challenge, your student is at home here with qualified teachers who will be your child`s champion and advocate. If you are an advanced student, they keep up with their needs by offering dual credits for college. The entire staff and parents at PCCS are always accessible and willing to help whenever difficult times arise. Personally, we feel blessed to have found such a wonderful school.

PCCS has been a blessing for us. We had to move out to Kaufman area due to family health issues. Our daughter was in a Dallas specialty school for Learning Differences/ADHD. I did not think there would be any close schools with a LD program. Several people mentioned PCCS so we visited and that was 2 years ago! We love their program for children with learning differences. It is perfect for our child. The administrators and teachers are responsive. Any issue we have run into they have been very helpful to find solutions. Instead of being alone in our decision making for our daughter's educational future we have a community of educators that give us options. They really push whole family involvement and we have made some wonderful friends. It is a Christian school but they welcome all. Our daughter has high anxiety and it took her about two months before she relaxed and really started to enjoy her new school and classmates. Dr Horan has made a great school with a solid curriculum. It is a safe place for your children with or without Learning Differences. Since LD is so central to our lives right now this review is mainly about their Learning Difference program but they have a wonderful school for children without LD and are just as helpful. Their teachers are wonderful!

We love this school, and we know it was God`s plan for our daughter to be here. She is receiving an excellent education and is blossoming spiritually. She comes home happy every day, and has a lot of precious friends. The teachers and staff are so helpful and kind. We also love the parent partnership program - keeps the tuition low and fosters a spirit of family. I highly recommend Poetry with no reservations.

It's hard to list all that we like about PCCS but our list would include strong academics (graduates go to a bunch of different colleges and universities), Christian teachers that really act like Christians and really know our children and how to motivate them, administration that is prompt to correct problems and appear to really care about making the school better. Our kids like that they have a lot of friends who are nice to them, which isn't something you find at every school.

I have been very impressed with the academic side of PCCS. In January of First Grade my son was reading three books a week as homework, not counting what he was doing in class. When he was first given the homework we really thought it was too much. He is only 6. But in just a few weeks, one book would only be about 5- 10 minutes. One of the goals of the school is to make learning fun. Everyday I ask my son about school and he almost always says he had lots of fun at school. Yet, this is in an environment that they are pushed to excel academically. I personally have never seen a school that excelled academically, that the kids had fun and enjoyed it. This is great. Academically in all phases I would say they are excellent and exceed my expectations. The teacher and staff are excellent, but because of the parental involvement, required by the school, it is a very different atmosphere. I worked at a Christian school years ago so I am familiar with them. This school becomes like an extended family or social network, you begin to know so many people and parents.. When we had a Birthday party for our son about 90% of his classmates drove about 50 miles to his birthday party at Legoland. We were amazed. I have never seen a school like it.
