Plymouth Meeting Friends School

We are an independent Quaker school, guiding children in their most formative years of Pre-K (age 3-5) through 6th grade to become lifelong learners.
In an environment of social-emotional security, students develop their curiosity into academic risks and growth.
We preserve childhood while preparing students to leave PMFS as creators, thinkers, collaborators, global citizens, and problem-solvers.
Located just northwest of Philadelphia 1/2 of our students come from Northwest Phila; 1/2 from Montgomery County (School district busing is available for areas within 10 miles of PMFS).

We LOVE PMFS! Prior to our family starting at PMFS, we were a little nervous, and weren't sure if we would fit in or feel welcomed - we were so wrong. Our family fell in love with the school the moment we stepped onto the campus. The history there is both celebrated and alive, and we could actually feel that (and still do) in the most positive way. We were immediately welcomed as family by the kind staff, and that relationship continues to grow and strengthen to this day. Our daughter started in pre-K and is now in 3rd grade. She has learned and grown so much during her time with her PMFS family. Most importantly - she is genuinely happy there. She loves it! Through the efforts and care of this community, our daughter continues to grow and strengthen her foundation to create her own success far beyond PMFS. The education, experience, and friends made here will be carried and cherished for a lifetime by her as well as us. When the time comes for her to move on, we will miss this place as much as she will.

My daughter started K at PMFS mid-year 2021/22. We were originally interested in PMFS' excellent COVID response, but as soon as my daughter started attending we knew that there was something really special about PMFS. She loves the school and is enthusiastic to go every morning. It was such a great experience we immediately enrolled my son in preschool. I cannot recommend this school enough: great teachers, great children and families, and a great environment. We have recommended this school to several other families who have enrolled and are also very happy! Make sure to ask about financial assistance - they are pretty generous.

My daughter has attended PMFS since 1st grade, and my wife and I couldn't be happier. Set on a bucolic campus just outside of Philly (where we live), PMFS does a great job of balancing the modern aspects of social/ emotional learning with the more traditional skills of reading, writing, and math. The faculty and staff are talented, experienced, and approachable too. We love PMFS!

I am so grateful to be a part of the Plymouth Meeting Friends School community. The faculty and staff truly go above and beyond to meet our children where they are & provide incredible academic, emotional, and social support. The school's deeply-rooted Quaker values and commitment to equity are beautifully woven throughout the PMFS experience, and I love that my son gets to witness and practice these values daily. I considered many independent schools for my child before selecting PMFS, and I have no doubt that PMFS was the right choice for us.
