Olympia Community School

Since 1973, Olympia Community School (OCS) has provided quality kindergarten through 5th grade education.
OCS children develop confidence through academic and creative achievement.
While acquisition of basic skills is essential to future success, we also believe that children deserve the opportunity to fully explore studies related to their own inherent abilities and interests.
To do so at an early age helps children to value their own perceptions, and to find self-determined paths in learning and in life that are fulfilling and productive.
We also believe that encouraging imagination and creative expression is essential in helping children to reach their full potential for learning and happiness.

We have three of our kids attending this school and we love it! The teachers are the best we have ever seen, and we have seen a positive impact on our kids from their influence. We love the community aspect and have made lifelong friends at the school. This is an opportunity to be extremely involved in our children's education, and we are so grateful we learned about the school.

We enrolled our daughter at OCS the fall of 2023 and we are so happy we did. This unique school is dedicated to enthusiastically educating its students in a small setting with a personal touch. We've been blown away with our daughters accelerated skills in reading, writing, mathematics, and especially in her social and emotional skills and developmemt. OCS meets the children where they are and ensures each student gets attention and support the right way for them at the right time. We've re-enrolled her already and look forward to watching her continue to achieve beyond the norm.

Our son has been at OCS since kindergarten and will be heading into the final year before middle school soon. His growth, both academically and emotionally, has been supported and nurtured by the wonderful staff. Classes are small enough to provide individual support and attention but big enough to provide rich social engagement.

Love it! Our daughter has absolutely loved her experience here at OCS. They have a wonderful job adapting to the remote schooling and are preparing to go back when practical and safe at a new location! Awesome job, everyone!

My daughter attends Olympia Community School and I am so grateful that we found it. My daughter's favorite subject is science, which is lacking in public school elementary curriculum. She loves the outdoor exploration, frequent field trips, interaction with with all grade levels and the teachers' encouragement to follow her passions. I love that she is learning Spanish, community service and nonviolent communication skills. I appreciate having input in the school's management and enrichment activities. We intend for our daughter to stay at OCS through 5th grade.

We first enrolled at Olympia Community School for their kindergarten program with the intent of transitioning to our local elementary for 1st thru 5th grades. That was 4yrs ago! The personalized programming for our son has made it easy to turn a non reader into an advent reader. The social/emotional values have provided him a safe and centered place to be sensitive, compassionate and understanding of the world around him. The purposeful education and the community awareness have made him a broader thinker and problem solver. The academics are taught in a manner that the understanding of each topic is deep and meaningful. And the best part is, he's enjoying the process! My only wish is they went through 8th grade!!Best elementary to create the right foundations for learning, worth every cent!
