School Notes

  • The vision of Northside Christian Academy is to trust our Lord as we seek academic and Christian excellence. We believe this will be accomplished through much prayer, commitment and great leadership among the administration and faculty, supported by a strong base of parental involvement. Our goal is to prepare students to be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, so that the generations to come might know Him (Psalm 78:4).
  • Northside uses curriculum written by Christian authors whenever possible. We seek to lead and guide our students in discovering how they can know and love God. The mind's understanding (knowing the Truth) is necessary for the heart's engagement with that truth (loving the Truth). It is paramount that students know the Truth completely and accurately. Knowing Truth is crucial above all else. "For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever." Romans 11:36.
  • In grades K4-2nd grade, NCA puts a strong emphasis on God's Word, Critical Thinking, Reading, Writing and Math. As we put a high concentration on these subjects, we believe this builds an incredible foundation for all future learning.
  • In grades 3-5 students are engaged in God's Word, critical thinking, incredible reading opportunities through fabulous literature selections, strong methodology in writing practices, hands-on math, and exploring God's majesty through science and history. All subjects including Art and Music are intertwined through a distinct period of God's divine history for each grade level.Northside is proud to be one of the only Christian schools in the area that uses the Deep Roots apologetic Bible program from Kindergarten to 6th grade. Students learn to develop a biblical worldview through the Deep Roots curriculum, which builds a firm foundation for Biblical truth.
  • Our middle school program daily core subjects include language arts, math, history, science, and Bible all of which are taught through engaging methods in a climate of mastery and high expectations. Special classes at Northside include art, chorus, drama, health and fitness, and STEM. Advanced content classes are offered in math and in English for qualifying students.
  • Our high school students are immersed in a challenging liberal arts curriculum that prepares them course-by-course to be difference-makers in their culture. Core subjects are Bible, English, math, history, science, government, economics, and foreign language. Academic offerings include college prep, honors and college-level courses. In addition to interactive weekly chapels, every subject is taught through the lens of Biblical truth. Furthermore, a variety of student-led Bible studies supports the commitment to the study of our faith. Northside offers a broad range of electives to enhance individual interests. We also offer several Dual Enrollment and AP courses both in- house and online through several university dual enrollment programs and Seven Star. NCA affords students the opportunity to participate in competitive math, quiz bowl, debate, chess, and literary teams in a competitive manner through the SCISA scheduled events. Students are able to participate in student government, peer mentoring, National Honor Society, service clubs, and more.
  • NCA has 14 athletic teams, music and visual arts programs, and a variety of club opportuinities.

School Reviews

5
Northside Christian Academy has been a great place for my boys to grow spiritually, academically, and socially. Small enough for hands-on instruction yet large enough for a full high school experience. We love the opportunities for mission trips, community service, and participation in multiple sports/activities. The personal relationships with staff and family-like community make NCA a great place to be! Best decision we ever made.
