- Mintz Christian Academy (MCA) became a reality because of spiritual visionaries from Mintz Baptist Church. The church received over twenty acres of real estate adjacent to its existing property in 2006. Discussions about its use for additional parking, a larger graveyard, a ball field, or extended church facilities were prevalent. Dr. John McBride, Pastor of Mintz Baptist Church, bathed the options in prayer. The church was thriving and his prayers led him to the concept of a "Christian" school. He shared his vision with his diaconate, other constituents, and eventually the church body. A Christian School Exploration Committee was formed, and the members spent months consulting, researching, analyzing, and discussing Kingdom education. The consensus was that a Christian school would be an evangelistic extension of the church, offer a solid Christian education to its student population, and would embrace the community, county and beyond in Christ-centered ministry. If Mintz Christian Academy was to become a reality, it needed a clearly defined purpose, vision, and mission. Its purpose would be to establish a Christian school promoting Kingdom Education and the nurture of the whole child-spiritually, academically and socially. Our vision was to give birth to the school and make it a reality. Now that Mintz Christian Academy is established, its vision is that students will come to a saving knowledge of Christ, will be daily transformed into His image, and will be fully equipped to be used of Christ.
- On March 8, 2008, Mintz Baptist Church held a business conference. After a PowerPoint presentation by the "Christian School Exploration Committee" and a thorough discussion, the final decision was made to move forward with the birth of Mintz Christian Academy. Mintz Baptist Church hired Principal Joy McDowell in September 2008. Every step in the development of Mintz Christian Academy was nurtured in prayer, scripture and complete dependence on God`s guidance and leadership. Now the mission for Mintz Christian Academy was developed-to offer a nurturing Christian-based education on a solid spiritual, academic, and social foundation that will enable our students to walk victoriously in their adult lives.
