School Notes
- Learning Express Academy is a family-focused elementary school, with a total enrollment of less than 100 students, and this is what makes our program unique. The size of our school allows us to offer students and their families a personal educational experience. Our students don't get lost in the crowd due to overcrowded classrooms or hundreds of students on-site. Rather, each child, and their family, is seen as an important part of what we like to call the "L.E. Academy Family."
- Our environment may be small, but we have BIG expectations when it comes to offering students a well-rounded elementary school experience. Our building has many special features, including:
- - Bright, inviting classrooms
- - An indoor gymnasium
- - An outdoor fenced-in playground
- - Media equipment including modern computer terminals, high-speed internet access, network printing and educational software to aide in developing technology skills in our students
- - A library with over 2000 educational and recereational reading materials
- We also offer the following for all grade levels:
- - Spanish classes to broaden students' multicultural awareness
- - Art and music classes to foster creativity and imagination
- - Health, safety and fitness concepts to teach children the importance of healthy lifestyles
- - Community service initiatives
- - Educational field trips and on-site visitors
- - And many other special programs to help make L.E. Academy a fun place for children to learn!
- A strong Reading and Math curriculum provides the foundation of a quality elementary school education; therefore, Learning Express Academy places emphasis on both of these subjects in our curriculum. The core of our curriculum in focused on a phonics-based reading program, structured to accomodate each child's individual reading level. In addition, students are challenged in mathematics, not only through traditional teaching methods, but also using creative learning centers and manipulatives. Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language, Library, Art, Physical Education and Computer classes complete our exceptional curriculum, which exceeds that of the Delaware Content Standards.
