School Notes

  • As an early learning academy we are academically focused and committed to a balanced approach to early literacy. We use literacy rich classrooms and a systematic approach to phonics. When a child understands and can break down and manipulate small sound units verbally, they are ready to transfer this knowledge to printed words and reading begins. Many of our students are early readers, a skill that research has shown leads to future school success.
  • In addition to encouraging early literacy, at Hilltop we are committed to developing a strong STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) foundation in our students. Using a STEAM approach in the classroom encourages development of higher-order thinking skills, which help us reason, think critically, and problem solve. These skills are encouraged in our classrooms through a variety of active, hands-on discovery, investigation and problem solving activities.

I can`t put into words how special this school has been to our family. The facility is lovely and well taken care of but you and your staff here are absolutely incredible! It`s so lovely to feel that appreciation when you leave your babies in a place. It`s one thing to educate a child (and you do an incredible job) but it`s another to love the child that you educate! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
