- From our family to yours We are the Molley family. Like many of you, we wanted to provide the best possible learning environment for our children that would spark their natural curiosity, inspire them to be lifelong learners, challenge them to grow in character, and equip them to be leaders that will change the world. After exploring a range of educational settings, including public school, private school, and homeschool, we were unable to find anything that fit our vision of what education could be. When we eventually came across the Acton model, we knew that it was EVERYTHING we were dreaming of... and MORE! We knew we had to be part of this unique and special community and were thrilled at the opportunity to bring this special private school to other families in Ascension seeking a similar experience for their children. Together, with parents, we work to make our school the perfect blend of individuality, curiosity, and community. Our dream was to create an environment where meaningful skills are taught through real-world scenarios. Where good character gets rewarded, and where developing a problem-solving mindset is the goal instead of an afterthought. Where children are taught how to think, not what to think. Where children wake up on Saturdays disappointed that there is no school. The school you wish you had gone to. Yes, just call us crazy, but we join 278 other Actons in 48 states and 27 countries around the world who are all on this journey together. The only question is, are you crazy enough to join? For ages 5 to 7 Montessori K-1st Studio Harness curiosity Inspired by Maria Montessori's method and Acton Academy principles, our young heroes get to experience self-paced hands-on learning, age-appropriate discussion, and ample outdoor time with a mix of adventures and play. Our Little Heroes Studio is for young heroes ages 5-7 years old. Our well-balanced educational experience ignites curiosity, perseverance, creativity, and moral character. The studio looks like happy, spirited children pushing boundaries in a safe environment designed for them. Kindness, independence, and self-regulation are of major character focus in this studio. Our Little Hero teachers act as Guides, who understand that young learners need a certain balance of freedom and structure. Asking meaningful questions instead of always providing answers is a method that our studio is built on. We value the independent learner, and understand that education is a natural process that comes easy to children who are allowed to freely interact with their environments. Our young heroes will spend their mornings in the studio engaging in sensorial materials, practical life challenges, and foundational math and language activities of their choice. The environment is carefully prepared with Montessori materials for the young heroes to explore and investigate. Our afternoons are filled with hands-on projects, loose parts play, and outdoor adventures. Afternoons also include extracurricular enrichment such as creative art, nature-based learning, and music. For ages 8-11 The Elementary Studio Accomplish important work and play well with others Our Elementary Studios are a vibrant mix of hands-on projects, cutting-edge technology, and self-paced academic mastery. Students are surrounded by a close-knit group of peers, and on any given day they could be building racing prototypes in our Makerspace, exploring and connecting with nature, or having a Socratic discussion about history. Each student has the freedom to learn in an environment that challenges them to be excellent while respecting their unique gifts. Elementary aged learners: Ask great questions. Have fun and welcome others. Set and track goals. Build a solid foundation in math, reading, writing, and Civilization. Explore, are curious and develop a love of learning through hands-on project-based learning.
