Excellent school with excellent great teachers, staff, and a community. We have been at the school for the past 4 years and we love it!

My son is currently in 6th grade and has been at FSMH since Kindergarten. I'm so thankful that he is experiencing this learning environment and that we are part of this wonderful community. I'm particularly impressed with the way various teachers work together to create robust lessons from their respective areas of expertise - for example, if the kindergarten class is learning about monarch butterflies, they will create monarchs in art, they will become them in music, they will study their migration patterns and life cycles in science, and reading and spelling will be focused on related stories and words. It drives the information home. The learning environment is based on the SPICES (simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, & stewardship), which are felt throughout the curriculum and experience, including community service projects, international travel, and conflict resolution. It's a very special place; I can't say enough about this wonderful school.

My son has been at this school for the last 4 years and we couldn`t be happier! He`s reading well above level and enjoys challenging math work. They enjoy the basic subjects as well as extra enrichment such as Spanish, art, music, gym, and so much more. Each project they do is an experience and life lesson. This school has brought joy and excitement back to education.

We were searching for a school with excellent academic opportunities and with a clear mission in line with our values. Friends instill the Quaker values of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship into their lessons so that my child learns social intelligence and responsibility. My generally reserved child has honestly become more adept at conflict resolution and expressing opinions respectfully and directly than I am. He also engages in critical thinking about various social issues, has hands-on exploration in nature (I can now identify a slime mold in the woods he learned from nature club), uses various technologies (internet safety is also taught/valued), has used many art mediums and music instruments (plays recorder and takes voice lessons in their music school), he has become more confident in speaking Spanish to our family members and enjoys teaching his younger grade buddy things like finger knitting. He is looking forward to playing on the sports teams in 5th grade and loves playing in the gym class and the gaga court and basketball court daily at recess. Every Friday the kids go to a meeting for worship-this is a time of quiet reflection on a topic that teaches students focus, listening to others who chose to speak on the topic, and introspection (for any religion or nonreligious person). It is clear that the teachers chose to be there, love their job, and their actions reflect their spirit and talent. You can see all of their profiles and credentials on the website and they are accessible and open to your ideas and requests. We love the school especially because it reflects our values and we have encountered some negative experiences in other schools. But the school has given us much more than we hoped which I cannot express entirely here.

FSMH is a wonderful school that helps develop the unique academic potential in each student, while fostering values and expanding world-views. This school holds a special place in my heart for the start it gave my son on his journey to being the fine young man he is today.

We had two children graduate from FSMH after attending each for 10 years. They both entered High School being put in advanced placement classes in Math, Science, History and Spanish based on the academic preparation Friends School provided. The teachers take an active interest in the student's growth, both academically and socially. Extracurricular activities kept both them both busy and a basis for future growth. For example, our Son started Violin in first grade and continued until 6th grade to transfer to guitar. As a Junior in high School, he is now an accomplished musician, able to play multiple instruments.

FSMH has been such a great place for my two daughters. They have grown from shy and sometimes unfocused children into confident and self-motivated young people who are supremely prepared academically. They love their teachers and also greatly enjoy the extra-curricular programs. There are so many opportunities for children of varying aptitude to participate on their athletic teams and in the drama program.

We love FSMH. We have three children in this school. Friends School offers an incredible academic program. We really like that its a Quaker school so simplicity and service are a big part of school life. Even in pre-school they learn that there are people less fortunate then them and have service projects to help. We looked at a lot of schools before we found Friends School Mullica Hill. In your search for schools, FSMH is a must see !!!
