School Notes

  • Our program is designed to fulfill the needs of the whole child. We strongly follow the principals of Dr. Maria Montessori, which is based on the philosophy that children learn best when engaged in purposeful activity. It is our position that every child is an individual who deserves to be respected and honored and should be given lessons according to his/her unique style and potential in a clean, safe, well-equipped environment.
  • Our teachers, staff, and families are partners in promoting good character and values, such as kindness, compassion, respect for all living things, as well as respect and care for the environment. Together we are committed to helping the child become aware of his/her responsibility and importance within the community. It is our goal to provide every child with a strong academic foundation, to help build a positive self-image, encourage continued community service, and to inspire them to become self-motivated independent, lifelong learners.
  • Emerging Minds Montessori Academy fully embraces diversity. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, national origin, religious beliefs, age, marital status, sexual orientation, or disability.

Bringing our kids to EMMA was like becoming part of a family. The love, genuine care, and attention provided to the students and families are in a league of their own. We toured the school prior to relocating to FL, and finding this school was a major deciding factor for us to make the move. I know that my 2- and 6-year-olds are always safe when they're at school. The security is taking it very seriously. The teachers are so respectful, kind and loving to the students. My heart is content when I send my kids off to school. We are very selective with the type of education and school environment we pick for our children; EMMA was the absolute best choice. We feel a part of the school as parents, and that is also very valuable to us. That family-like environment is priceless for both kids and parents. Also, it's a true, traditional Montessori education, which we LOVE. It's not just Montessori philosophy applied to traditional rote learning. It is an authentic Montessori approach. The growth, independent thinking and play that we see developing in our kids is incredibly rewarding. We plan to keep our kids in this school through 8th grade. So happy we found EMMA. It was meant to be!

As someone who attended the school at both the preschool and private school age levels, I can proudly say that my time there was nothing short of exemplary. Emerging Minds truly embraces the authentic Montessori philosophy while incorporating the ever-changing modern world. Since graduating, I have received nothing but high awards and accolades from my schools. I am currently a rising senior at the university undergraduate level with hopes to pursue a law degree afterward. That said, I have no one to thank but the wonderful staff and administration at Emerging Minds as they have shaped me into who I am today. I could not recommend this school enough and I encourage all potential families to go see why Emerging Minds Montessori Academy produces successful alumni!

After moving to Florida, we tried two other preschools briefly before landing at Emerging Minds Montessori Academy. It came highly recommended from a professional colleague in education whose judgement I trust. We were not disappointed! We're currently in our fifth year, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school. My son started here in the toddler room and is now in 1st grade in the Lower Elementary classroom, and I have a daughter starting there this fall. The teachers are outstanding, the staff is fantastic, and the school just attracts the nicest kids and parents. They've really created something special here -- an environment that is warm, loving, fun and engaging, and filled with truly happy kids who have developed an intrinsic love for learning. It is definitely academically oriented and challenging, but it is child-led and at their own pace. Emerging Minds is the real deal as far as truly authentic Montessori (AMS member) schools go. I love that they go up to 8th grade and continue the mixed-age classroom and Montessori method of teaching.

This school is very loving and warm. It was the perfect place to send my children. My first and second graders had attended one of the most competitive private programs only to feel "my teachers do not care about me". Not here at EMMA. We truly value and appreciate the warmth of the teaching style at Emerging Minds.
