School Notes
- The first graduating class of CCS occurred in 1989 with two students. It was at this time in the spring of 2009, that a core group of parents and teachers began to research the Classical Education model. Following months of meetings, site visits to other classical schools, and planning sessions, the Session approved the move to transition CCS to the classical and Christian education (cCe)model beginning in the fall of 2009.
- Classical education is a pedagogical strategy that "teaches with the grain" of the child. Employing the ideas first realized by Dorothy Sayers inThe Lost Tools of Learning, classical education seeks to train students how to learn. It is a method of education that utilizes the trivium: Grammar (grades 1-6), Logic (grades 7-9) and Rhetoric (grades 10-12).
