The Children's Creative and Performing Arts Academy was founded in June 1981 in Pacific Beach.
The Campus population is approximately 250 students, with a diversity of backgrounds and interests. Students come to CCPAA from all corners of San Diego County.
We have students from Escondido, Otay Mesa, La Jolla, Jamul and Ramona.
International students enjoy a special place here, as well. Representatives from such countries as Japan, China, Germany and Israel can be found in all divisions.
Teachers at CCPAA are qualified, credentialed and passionate in their desire to work with students.
Both teachers and teacher's aides are selected for their abilities to work in open classroom environment, as well as for their genuine love of children and young adults.
Teachers in the Children's House, Primary and Elementary Divisions are Montessori trained.
Our faculty, additionally includes very qualified specialists for music, dance, drama, fine arts, gymnastics, physical education and sports, foreign language study and computers.
The curriculum of the Academy meets and surpasses the requirements set by the State of California.
Written evaluations, based upon mastery, are given every six weeks.
Progress reports are available any time during this period, upon request for the parent(or student, in in the CAPA Division).
Conferences are required at the first and fourth grading periods, but may be scheduled with individual teachers at any time during the academic year.
The Stanford Achievement Tests, are administered every year in May.
The results of these tests are available to the public. PSAT is administered in October.
Information on SAT and ACT registrations is available in the Counseling Office.
