Charles River School focuses on academic excellence and the joy of childhood. Academic excellence is demonstrated through my children's strong reading, writing, math, and--most importantly--critical thinking skills. The school's curriculum is presented thematically, so my children approach their academic work with curiosity and a growth mindset. My children also find so much joy at school. They love getting out of the car every morning to see their friends and teachers, and play on the new playgroundI cannot say enough about the CRS community. The partnership between parents and faculty is unparalleled: My children are supported academically, socially, and emotionally to be the best version of themselves. My entire family is so grateful for everything that CRS has done for us and we feel lucky to be a part of this amazing preK-8 independent school. I know that if you come visit campus, you'll see the mission in action in the classrooms, playground, gym, and throughout campus.

CRS provided our 2 children with an outstanding education that fostered independence, confidence, and ambition. Both attended Pre-K through 8th grade and entered high school academically prepared with confidence and enthusiasm for learning. CRS's two-teacher model, interesting experiential learning programs, and small school environment were perfect for our children. I highly recommend this school.

As someone previously unfamiliar with the independent school world, we could not have found a more nurturing, empowering, and child-centered environment. The care and compassion are felt throughout every area of campus. Our son is excited to go to school. Never thought I`d see the day.

The Charles River School (CRS) was a home for our recent graduate for 10 years, PreK-8th grade. I am grateful to CRS for the academic and personal foundation that my son developed during these critical developmental years. My son is more than ready for high school and beyond. The smaller class sizes along with the 2 teacher method allow a child to learn at their own pace, whether it be reading at a younger age, to taking on high school math topics in the middle school years. The faculty are top-notch and provide such joy in the classroom while providing a project-based learning that I could never have imagined as a child myself.

I attended CRS for grades 5-8 and credit the school for teaching me how to learn. I really liked collaborating with my peers on projects and hands-on activities such as mock trials and science labs. My teachers were super supportive and welcoming, and they made students more invested in their work. I also really enjoyed the sports program, electives, and opportunities to perform in class plays. Now that I'm in high school, I particularly appreciate how well I learned study skills and the importance of asking teachers for help when needed.

I am currently a rising 8th grader at Charles River, and I have loved this school since day one ten years ago. The CRS atmosphere is filled with care, motivation, and excitement. Our academics are rich and well taught by very experienced teachers. I have been through every grade that CRS has to offer, and I can tell for sure that CRS's very personal and thematic learning just gets better with every new grade. This school let me grow into myself while allowing me to learn with understanding teachers and friends.

It is a very small school where everybody knows everybody. The teachers are very caring, the atmosphere is friendly and the program is excellent. My two boys are in 8th grade. I am very happy with the choice I made last year to send them to CRS. I only wish I had made this choice earlier in their lives. CRS is the best!!
