Islamic school was the dream of every Muslim in the Sacramento area.
It was realized in the fall of 1998 with the establishment of Al-Arqam School.
Al-Arqam Islamic School is committed to the education and nurturing of the whole child and to instill in each of its students the principles of submission to the Will of Allah (SWT) as an essential element in achieving excellence academically and personally.
Our goals are to teach a love for Islam by way of role modeling; to teach the practice of Islam through daily practical implementation; to educate our students according to first-rate standards of academic achievement; to teach our students to strive for excellence so that they may compete effectively in the outside society, universities and work places; and to develop in each student a strong moral and spiritual character, and to build on their individual self worth, discipline, independence, ethical standards, love of learning, sense of citizenship and responsibility.

School Notes
- Al-Arqam Islamic School (AIS) was founded in September 1998 by seven community members who represented different Islamic Centers in the Greater Sacramento Area, and volunteered their time and effort to form and work on establishing of the school. Since its inception, AIS has served an ethnically diverse ethnic community in which the socioeconomic composition of its student population derived predominantly from middle class families. The school has expanded to include over 450 students from regions as far away as Folsom, Yuba City, Natomas, Ripon, Tracy, and other East Bay communities. In 2007, Al-Arqam Islamic School opened its high school program, with the addition of the International Baccalaureate World School in 2009. Thus, the school was rechristened Al-Arqam Islamic School & College Preparatory (AIS/ACP). The vision of Al-Arqam Islamic School & College Preparatory is to educate lifelong learners who practice Islam as a way of life and are responsible, productive members of our global society-educating and nurturing the "whole" child. Al-Arqam Islamic School & College Preparatory is built on the collaborative and cooperative efforts of the School`s Board of Trustees (BOT), the Administration Team, dedicated staff, parents, and the local community.

- Schoolwide Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
- Al-Arqam Islamic School & College Preparatory has five Schoolwide Learning Outcomes (SLOs) that are focused on the establishment of strong, cohesive, and engaging school programs designed to impact students: academically, spiritually, socially, and physically. The school, in concert with all of its stakeholders, began its revision process in the Spring of the 2017-2018 academic year, with the goal of updating the school`s learner outcomes.The school`s updated SLOs are conveyed through the acrostic TORCH, which is derived from the school`s mascot and logo, the Torch Bearers.
