School Notes

  • A WCCS education isGod-centered. It must be exceptional as our King deserves our very best. It must be biblically-based and God-focused as our students need to know and apply the Truth. It must develop the gifts of our students so that they would serve the King (Jesus) in His Kingdom.
  • A WCCS education isother-focused. It must be consistent with God's call to serve rather than be served and cultivate a love for God and our neighbor. It must expose our students to the "gap" between the way things are and the way things could/should be throughout our world, inspiring students to fulfill their calling in closing that gap.
  • A WCCS education isKingdom-minded. It must encourage students to know the King (Jesus) personally and follow Him as they apply their education to life. It must instill a passion for sharing and defending the gospel to further God's Kingdom. It must enable our greatest joy to see our students "walking in the truth".
  • Westminster Catawba Christian School approaches every area of life from a biblical world view, and nowhere is this more critically foundational than in the design of the curriculum. Students receive a comprehensive education which includes biblical studies at every grade level along with science, math, language arts, social studies, and enrichments in art, music, foreign language, computer, physical education, and library.

My granddaughter is attending kindergarten at WCCS, we feel it was definitely the best decision. Lots of communication from her teachers. We are pleased with her process and education. She is coming home reciting bible verses. We would highly recommend it.

We have been so pleased with WCCS! We have four children currently enrolled, ranging in age from 2nd grade to 12th grade. Each of our children has enjoyed the benefits of smaller student/teacher ratios while getting a strong academic foundation. The children also experience faith-based learning which reinforces the values we are teaching in our home.

Westminster has been a great experience for our family. The school is Christ-centered in the education as well as the way students are treated (discipline, care, made to feel welcome). We have LOVED our time so far and are so glad we found a school that supports the values we teach our kids in the home. The staff truly cares about our students and will follow up quickly with both positive things as well as things that need to be worked on (both academically as well as in character and everyday things).

WCCS is a wonderful school. It is a good environment with clean well maintained buildings. Great instruction is provided. The children experience core subjects, the bible, games, reading, and playground time. There are clubs for elementary school, with choices from drama to fitness and prayer groups. There is a good variety of electives for middle and upper schoolers ( STEAM LAB, sports psychology, and art were some of the ones that appealed to my child this year). In terms of several students, I feel the school is small enough so children are known and know others by their names but big enough to provide social and athletic opportunities. As a parent, I am extremely grateful for the extraordinary people my children interact with daily. Teachers are very committed and loving. My children look forward to Chapel days, feel comfortable talking to the dean, and can access the principals and other staff when they feel the need to. Per my children: this is a place you will learn without drowning in homework, grow and make friends. Highlight the welcoming environment at the Upper School Campus drop-off.

We have a child attending as a Kindergartener and have re-enrolled him for the next year. We like the school so much that we will be transferring our toddlers to their preschool for the Fall of 2023. We are pleased with the quality of the curriculum as well as the incorporation of a Biblical worldview into all lessons.

We started our children at WCCS in kindergarten and now we have one in elementary and one in middle school. We have been very happy with the results and the specialized attention they have received. The teachers work to help the children succeed... some even offer extra instructional time after school if needed. Our son is involved in many of the middle school sports and that has been a lot of fun for the whole family. I am so glad to have this kind of high-quality private education in our city.

Our family came to WCCS in August 2022. For me, as an employee at the upper campus and our 3 children started first grade and third grade at the lower campus. We could not be happier. Not only are the teachers and administrators wonderful, but my kids immediately felt right at home. We were accepted with open arms and have been loved on since the day we started! The daily biblical teachings in addition to their regular school subjects have truly made a tremendous impact on my children's lives. They feel like they can be open about their faith while at school, which is HUGE! I love listening to the students at the upper campus sing during chapel each week. The relationships I have made with coworkers AND students have blessed my life. I cannot begin to express what WCCS means to us in a short review. But, I can say that if you want a school that feels more like a family, a place where your children can learn about Jesus in addition to receiving a wonderful education and feeling deeply loved, come check out WCCS. It is a gift that keeps on giving.

Great experience with Jane touring the Lower WCCS Campus for our 1-year-old daughter. Jane answered all of our questions and eased our minds and hearts by showing us around the school and childcare facility. We were thoroughly impressed and look forward to our future at WCCS.

We chose WCCS because of the biblical values they instill in children through daily interaction. We see that Jesus is at the heart of all decisions made for the betterment of the school and our children. As parents, it is lovely to know you've left your most precious possessions in the hands of those with the heart of the Father. It just doesn't get better than that. We love seeing our children soar in many areas of study, especially learning biblical principles, Bible verses, and stories as well as gaining the knowledge in their studies (math, L.A., social studies, science, etc.) that will allow them to be His hands and feet in today's society. Watching them develop into the wonderful little children God intends for them to be is one of the greatest blessings this school has given us. Take a tour and see for yourself!

It has been amazing to see God at work in our experience with WCCS... from the admissions process through his first year at school, our son has always felt loved, safe, well taken care of, well educated, and well discipled in Christ. The small class sizes, curriculum, and individualized instruction have truly helped our son thrive in and out of the classroom. In addition to his kindergarten teacher, all faculty and staff treat him like he's one of their own from the moment he's dropped off in the morning to the time we pick him up at the end of the school day. WCCS has been a tremendous gift to our son as well as our family!

While relocating and getting established into the area, we thought WCCS would be a nice transition for our three-year-old daughter. She was coming from a strong early childcare program with wonderful teachers and peers, so our expectations were high. WCCS administration and staff were so kind and accommodating. Our daughter was welcomed with open arms into a classroom where she adored the teachers and enjoyed making new friendships. We have noticed tremendous progress with her verbal skills. She continues to develop relationships that will help facilitate life lessons. We are so thankful for the Christ-centered program WCCS offers.

Our high-school aged son has had a wonderful experience at WCCS. He is learning to think critically about the world around him, to understand himself better, and to see his gifts and abilities as tools to bless the community in which he lives. We are so thankful for the caring teachers who take extra time to get to know their students and encourage them. Thanks to WCCS, our son has a clearer understanding of what God may be calling him to in the future.

Very impressed with the level of excellent in the middle school at WCCS. Leadership is strong and working hard to take care of the needs of middle school students—both academically and socially emotionally. Teachers care tremendously about students!

Our son started preschool at WCCS in August, and we are so very thankful for the staff and administration. Every day he gets in the car excited to tell me about his day and all that he learned. He is learning so much academically, but also biblically. I am so impressed that even in early childhood education he is receiving music, physical education, Spanish, and library each week. I knew WCCS would be a good fit for our family, but I underestimated how blessed I would feel each day that he goes to a school where love is poured into him.

It's so great to see this school as both parent and faculty. The same care, love, and respect that WCCS shows to the students is shown to the staff. Each faculty member is carefully selected and screened to love and/or teach these children amazingly. You can visibly see how the staff wants to be here and do their best, making WCCS better every day. I appreciate their long-term focus on teaching and guiding for a well-rounded student/person.

This is our first year at WCCS, and the girls LOVE it! They have small class sizes, great teachers, and are making amazing friends. We just love all the encouragement and engagement by the staff and faculty. We love that are learning about Jesus daily and gowning so much as young woman. Defiantly would recommend!!

I have 4 children who attend Westminster, and we have been at the school for 7 years. The teachers are nothing short of amazing. The children receive a wonderful, rigorous, Christ-centered education. The teachers, staff, and administration truly know and care deeply for the children. On a daily basis, I think about how grateful I am that my children are able to attend this wonderful school! We love it more every year!

We have been at WCCS for nine years. We love WCCS! The teachers and staff are so supportive and truly love each child. We are very grateful for the small class sizes that give more opportunity for one-on-one attention. The faculty and administration are completely invested in the lives of each child, not only to provide the most valuable education, but to do so while living a Christ- centered life. They encourage and teach our children how to use their unique gifts and individual talents to glorify God. They have been an amazing partner with us in our children's education and in their lives. We highly recommend WCCS!!

WCCS has been such a blessing to our children! We are thankful for the Christ-centered education they are receiving and for the loving, caring teachers who bring out the best in our children. WCCS offers so many opportunities for all students and the small class size makes it possible for teachers to give each child the attention he/she needs and deserves. Our children have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports, fine arts, student council and other extracurricular activities that help them grow to be well-rounded individuals. We love WCCS!

I have alumna and currently have two children attending WCCS. We have been a part of WCCS for five years now and love this school so much. The teachers are all exemplary. Their love for the children and for education is remarkable. My children are happy to be in school, and I love that they are getting an amazing education from a Christian foundation and worldview. In my opinion, WCCS is the best Christian school in the Rock Hill area!

I am an alumna and now parent of WCCS. I'm so grateful to send my boys to a school where they are known individually and have the promises of God poured into them daily. The school equips students for success in this world and more importantly, the next.

I have three children attending WCCS! We have been a part of the WCCS family for four years and have had such an amazing Christ filled education that I had to leave a great review! From the teachers, staff, students, and environment I know with confidence they are growing as disciples for Christ!

We enrolled our daughter at WCCS when she was in 3-year-old preschool; she is now in 11th grade. At every stage of her education, we have found consistency in the God-centered atmosphere. The teachers really know and deeply care for their students and their students' families in a way that has continued to impress me year after year. The families within the school know each other and truly care about the well being of their child's classmates. If you are looking for a Christian education for your student (s), I highly recommend that you look into all that is offered at WCCS.

I can't tell you what a blessing this school has been to our family! Our kids learn to love learning, and the teachers encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and application of material. The academic standards are high and rigorous, but everything is done in a loving, grace-filled way. My children get individualized attention from their teachers and they truly feel loved and cared for by them at all levels (elementary, middle, high school). It's a warm, honoring, Christ-focused environment, and my children are truly learning what it means to have a vibrant relationship with Christ. I love this school!!

I love how well rounded this school is. Christian values, small classes, great extracurricular and enrichments classes/activities, dedicated teachers, casual environment, and best of all the spirit that all children are special as God's children. This school focuses on the truth that each child is unique and special and can succeed in life based on their uniqueness-not only because they get straight As, excel in sports, or have amazing talents . The school does not adhere to a societal view of success, but a Christlike view of success! Love is apparent here. Academics are strong! We have loved it thus far and we have a second grader and a Kindergartener at WCCS.

WCCS recently hosted Pastors Appreciation Day during chapel. It was amazing to see over 30 pastors from different churches attend the chapel service, and then gather with students from their congregation to pray with them. I am so glad that WCCS addresses students’ spiritual needs while at the same time offering strong academic training.

There is a fresh new feel on campus with the new administration. The academics have always been strong and the opportunities to engage in fine arts activites or athletics are plentiful. The classes are small, so the students are well known and get more individualized attention. There is a renewed emphasis on being authentic about the Christian faith. What a blessing!

The individual attention our children get in the classroom is amazing. The "spiritual temperature" is higher than other christian schools we have been a part of. Our children have loved their experiences there.
