The Koonings Center, NewBridge School's sister program, was established in 2013 and named in honor of a past student.
Its mission is to educate students who require more intensive academic and social interventions.
NewBridge and The Koonings Center share the same philosophy and ethics of compassion, dedication and strategic instruction.
Although Koonings has its own classroom facilities, shared art, social skills, PE, lunch, recess breaks and field trips allow for social bonds to develop across both programs. To address the complex language, social and academic needs of the students in The Koonings Center, class sizes are limited to 4-6 students with highly qualified Education Specialists and instructional assistants, plus embedded Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists.
The program is designed to support students who need more social/language support, and/or those who simply need a more intensive program in order to be prepared to join our NewBridge classrooms.
