As parents of B/G twins, one of our goals was to find a school that would serve each of our (very different) children. When we toured Evans, I was more than impressed with the level of education and character building that starts day one in Kindergarten. To be honest, I was a little nervous that our one very spunky child would be dimmed by the structure given. Boy, was I wrong about that! As we now enter our 6th year at Evans this fall, I can say that the structure, character building, and tremendous love at Evans has brought out the BEST in each of our children and has highlighted their individual gifts. 2020 was a difficult school year with COVID-19, but not from an educational standpoint. In three (3) days Evans had well organized, full days of virtual learning with engaged children - my husband and I were blown away. What was difficult about the 2020 COVID school year, was being away from our Evans Family. Although we are all very different, we are all one. Evans is not just a school; it is a loving family you are part of for life. That family includes, staff, alum and more. That is something I never realized while touring 6 years ago, and I feel so very blessed to have that family forever for our children.

Evans is the absolute best educational experience you could ever imagine for your children. The academics are superior, the teachers and staff are outstanding and the overall environment of the school is incredibly warm and inviting. Our children love to go to school each and everyday. The entire student body knows one another on a first name basis and the upper school students are always friendly and kind to the lower school students. The curriculum and values taught at Evans are life-long gifts to our children and to their families. We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to send our children to such an outstanding school.

I graduated from Evans in 2012 after 7 years there.. Ms Gale and Mrs A are very dedicated to creating a tight-knit community where I have always felt comfortable and loved. Each teacher is incredibly caring, and Evans has been close to my heart since the first day. In 6th grade, Evans created a customized math class especially for my individual math level. Evans does not limit students to a standard level of education. They are willing to accommodate so their students can continue to develop at a pace that works for each one.Evans is unique because, aside from the exceptional education, students learn values and develop their character from a young age. I remember learning about initiative, respect, and integrity when I was just six years old. In my third grade English class, we even learned table manners. I believe that, with dedication, a child can get a good education at any school, but only at Evans do children learn fundamental personal morals and values as part of the curriculum. That opportunity has proven to be priceless as I become an adult. After Evans, I attended The Bishop's School through 12th grade. Now, I am a student at USC Marshall School of Business. I feel so grateful that Evans gave me the foundation to excel in school and have strong values that I will carry with me forever.

The Evans School has been my 4 kids' K-6th grade school. I chose it 20 years ago because I liked the environment, the teachers and the energy in general. Little did I know that it would become a second home for us. Kids learn the academical parts well but, more than anything, they learn to be good people. Love and good values are taught constantly and they were the perfect partners for raising-educating my children. I would choose The Evans School without a doubt, should I had to do it again.

I went to the Evans School K-6 and it set me up for a very happy, successful, and fulfilled life! The education I received set me up to attend the Bishop's School, and then UC Berkeley. But Evans is much more than a great school - it is a family! The attention my teachers gave me and each of my classmates showed how much they truly cared about each and every one of us. They made me WANT to do well in school, and were always willing to help me reach my goals. The extra-curriculars (such as singing with the whole school and faculty, sudoku championships, "teacher assemblies", Christmas programs, etc.) brought everyone together every single day. To sum it up, the Evans School is a top-notch school, a haven, a family.

Evans is a gem of a school, full of such warmth and a strong sense of community. It's like a big family where 6th graders greet all the younger students by name & every teacher cares for & supports the students like their own children. The academics are superb; setting up the kids to be confident learners and very prepared for middle & high school. The science lab is amazing and is a favorite of my child. Kids are grouped by reading & math levels starting in lower school for a very personalized educational approach , resulting in even smaller teacher-student ratios. At least once a month there is a performance of some kind - musicals, poetry readings, Christmas and Thanksgiving concerts. My kids love this aspect of the school and it has helped my shy child grow more confident, especially with public speaking. As a parent I also love these performances - in addition to the many family picnics and parent-only Christmas parties - as a time to connect with fellow parents, teachers and staff.Lastly and most importantly, the school's focus on values, integrity and character building is what sets it apart. My child comes home from school almost more proud of her 'kindness' award than any grade she achieves....and I love this message that the school promotes. I could not recommend this school more!

Our family adores the Evans School. The school environment is safe, warm and welcoming, and the teachers and staff truly care about the students. The character education that is provided at this school is invaluable. Our children were taught how to be citizens with integrity and a heart of gold. Students are well-prepared for middle school and are appropriately academically challenged at Evans.
